We are battening down the hatches. Rain and high winds are moving in. The weather forecast for the next few days are not looking promising. It will be time to get some indoor chores done. The low last night was 33 with a high yesterday of 53. It was cool up top yesterday, but that did not stop us from getting out and enjoying the mountain. Now, time to take the laundry down before the wind blows it across the mountain.

Allyson, I didn't know LeConte Lodge HAD hatches! Don't you just love the English language? And what does "battening" mean.....anyway, thanks for your latest posts. And I love being up there during high wind and rainstorms. Nothing like being on the mountain during a raging storm. (especially if you can be in one of those little cabins). I am envy you. And good luck with your laundry.

Ok Ron, maybe I should have said securing the solar panels and bringing in the laundry. It has actually turned out to be another beautiful day. The clouds cleared off and the winds died down. We are trying to enjoy before the big, nasty weather comes in tomorrow afternoon.

Yes do get ready for that weather. It is coming through our area (Mississippi) right now and is geeting worse. First wave just came through Jackson and we are bracing for the next one. Be safe!!

Allyson, I wasn't being critical of you at all over the "battening down the hatches" statement. I love how you write; I was just bemused at the English language, and your hatches comment tickled my funny bone.

No worries Ron. I didn't take it that way. I was trying to be a little more creative in regards to the mountain.
