Rainy Sunday

It has been an extremely wet morning. The crew waited patiently for the clouds to clear so they could enjoy the afternoon. The clouds have lifted and hopefully we will get a repeat of yesterdays weather. The high yesterday was in the mid 60's. The sun was out and it felt like a cool fall day.

Our chaplain, Lindi Berkey made it up yesterday. She hikes up on Saturdays and is here for Sunday services. She provides a sunrise service on Myrtle Point and 9:30 church service in our office. It is nice to have these options available to our guests and our crew.

As long as we have a chaplain and a sunrise, we will have a sunrise service. Sometimes you get one but not the other :)

The Sunrise service is Awesome.If you don't actually get to see the sun rise is is still incredible. The beauty of you surroundings make it great!

Nice to know about the sunday service. never knew that. Glad you offer it to your guest. Might have to do that next time up to stay overnight.
I see you have your own little waterfall again. Thanks for the pics and info.

I've been lucky enough to experience the sunrise service at Myrtle Point on two occasions in the past. One time the chaplain began his opening prayer just as the sun appeared. Really special.

It took me a while to figure out how you took the second picture on 6/25. I was about to write in when I finally figured it out. The third picture provided the clue I needed. Your pictures are always excellent, but this one had the added benefit of being a bit of a puzzler.

My Uncle Bill's ashes were scattered at a ceremony on LeConte. Any idea how common that is?

The b & w photo looking out from the dining hall is exceptional ! The steps are a bit washed out, but this photograph is just great ! It's worth framing asnd hanging in the office; I, too, intend to have my ashes spread out somewhere in the Smokies, preferably around Cliff Tops or nearby; Don't know who I'll get to do that ! As always, photos from the lodge keep me going !
