The shortest route to wealth is the contempt of wealth. Seneca
_Morning y'all,

It's a beautiful, warm morning up top. The high yesterday reached 44 degrees. The low yesterday reached 40 degrees. It is currently 44 degrees and slightly cloudy. The mountain received .09" of rain yesterday. There is still some patchy snow on the ground up top, but we've had a lot of melt lately. I would bet that trail conditions are improving - making traction devices a nice luxury, not a necessity.

The lingering clouds from yesterday are shimmering in the soft hues of pink & purple. Douglas Mountain is waking up slowly on this fine morning, trying to pull the clouds back over her like some beloved, ephemeral blankets. Pine Siskins are jumping from tree to tree in front of my porch, somehow they are more caffeinated than I am. They are usually very considerate neighbors, but their frenzied activity is a bit too much for me. This morning, I want to focus on the slow show in the sky. It's a couple ticks quicker than glacial, yet still gradual enough to let my mind marinate in it for an hour or two.

Awsome crispy picture today! The weather actuallly seems pretty warm for up there. Up in Michigan right now its 36 and the sun is starting to really shine. I think were going to have a big heat wave today and make over 40. Really need to enjoy it all while we can, the cold is suppose to be back by Sunday.

Good composition in the photo. It reveals how lonely and desolate and "unoccupied" Leconte Lodge is during the off season. Still, it's a great place to visit even then. Whatever your religious beliefs, one surely can find those inner thoughts and feelings that stir the heart up there on the mountain.

JP, I may have missed a comment section on the subject, but have you had the knee looked at? Hope you didn't snap a rubber band!
