You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read. It was books that taught me that the things that tormented me the most were the very things that connected me with all the people who were alive, who had ever been alive. James Baldwin
Morning y'all,

It's a beautiful smoky mountain morning up top. The high yesterday reached 42 degrees. The overnight low was 25 degrees. It was 29 degrees and clear at 7am observation. The mountain received no new rain or snow and there is still no snow remaining up top. The trails are almost perfectly clear and there are only a few spots where you need to use caution on remaining ice. It seems as though my winter is over.

I am taking off on Sunday and it is time to start packing up the cabin. Another season, another mountain range calls my name.

If everyone can act like adults, the comments section will return tomorrow.

and if i'll be your psychologist, who'll be the psychologist's psychologist?

The man lived at every pore of his skin, and the tranquil clearness and vividness with which every thing printed itself on his sensorium, and found a cool nook in his mind without interfering with any of the other denizens thereof, must have been one of the most exquisite spectacles ever on exhibition on this planet. William James
Morning y'all,

It's a beautiful, clear morning up top. The high yesterday was 38 degrees. The overnight low was 22 degrees. It was 26 degrees and clear at 7am observation. The mountain received .06 inches of rain yesterday morning. There is no snow remaining up top. The trails are in pretty good shape. There is still one icy stretch on Alum, but as long as you use the cables and take your time, you should be able to reach the top with traction devices.

The best people create even more awe in awesome beauty.

we just don't care, we just don't care.

Morning y'all,

It's a beautiful, gloomy morning up top. The high yesterday was 46 degrees and the overnight low was 32 degrees. It was 37 degrees and cloudy at 7am observation. The mountain received .57 inches of rain and there is no snow remaining up top. I would bet that there are some nasty slick spots on the trail, with fresh rain on the melting ice. Be careful out there!

There is so much good, if you know where to look for it.

this is our decision to live fast and die young. we've got the vision, now let's have some fun.

Morning y'all,

It's a beautiful day up top. The high yesterday reached 43 degrees. The overnight low was 26 degrees. The temperature at 7am observation was 26 degrees and cloudy. The mountain received no new snow. There is no more snow remaining up top. The only ice left on the trails are out on the 'glacier' at the Rainbow/Alum junction. Enjoy the sunny skies!

PS: Congrats and thanks to Billy! Can't wait to see the KingCone back up here next year!
