Today is proving to be like most up here...filled with great conversation, views, and wonderful food!  Thanks again Nicholette for another great lunch.  I was able to get away from camp this afternoon and do some much needed hiking.  The fog was coming and going my whole hike. The temperature currently is 50 degrees, and we are once again under clouds.  Yesterday's high reached 51 and low was 47.  We received .45 inches of rain during the afternoon and by dinner the clouds broke way in time for a beautiful sunset.  Peace

Not a bad way to spend the afternoon.
Hello folks! Writing from the clouds today. Yesterday was beautiful and mostly sunny. The high reached 57 and the overnight low was only 36. I spent most of my afternoon cocooned in a hammock listening to the goings-on of camp around me and reading a very good book! However it doesn't look like anyone is going to get the chance to lie in the sun today as we are completely socked in up here! It's spitting a little rain, but mostly it's just condensation coming off the trees. It is a bit windy and the temperature right now is 46.

Maybe I'll just finish my book inside today...Ya'll have a great afternoon!

Spring is making its way up the mountain...slowly but surely.
Morning! It's a beautiful day on the mountain today! Yesterday's high was 52 and the low reached 30, but it felt warm during the day with the sun out all afternoon. Today is a little on the windy side, but it is clear and cool, around 40. The sunshine is really giving the mountain an extra push to turn green....it's looking more and more like spring everyday up here and I know everyone is enjoying it as much as I am!

Last night's sunset showing color in the the 11th hour.
Oh my, what a beautiful day today! Yesterday's projected forecast of thunderstorms was met with only .2" of rain and not much storm activity to speak of. The high was 51 and the low fell back to 30 overnight, but there is no ice on the ground, it's already 40 degrees and the sun is shinning today!
Last night the clouds broke open at the last minute and one of the most beautiful sunsets yet this season poured out of the cracks in the sky and set the horizon ablaze with pinks, reds, purples and blues. It was absolutely stunning.
Have a wonderful day in the woods today!

Cloud Glow.
Bonjour, mes amies! It's all wind and rain so far today. Yesterday turned out lovely and warm with higher elevation winds making for intricate cloud formations all day. The high once again reached 63 and the low was only 48. Currently though, the wind is picking up, the rain started about an hour ago, and the temperature has dropped from 48 to 46. So be prepared for wet weather hiking this afternoon and I would suggest a good book to bring up to read curled up in a rocking chair by the heater!

This morning's sunrise only produced colors for about 45 seconds....just long enough to take a picture.

Predawn lights.
Good morning! Well, yesterday's weather was a pleasant surprise! Not only did it never rain, it cleared up for most of the day and the was just lovely. The high reached 63, which is unseasonably warm (up here) for early April, and the low was only 44. Right now it is 51 degrees but the clouds can't quite make up their minds about whether to stay or go...there is rain in the forecast, so pack accordingly.

Everyone have a wonderful day!

Evening storm clouds over the Tack House.
Hello! Another cloudy day for us up top. Yesterday's high was 55 and the low only fell to 44 last night. For the past few days we've been getting pretty consistent storms and yesterday was no exception. The first line of storms hit us right as the llamas were arriving safely, but not pleased to be here. There is nothing quite like a look of disdain from a wet llama...The overall rain fall yesterday was only .73, but the lighting, thunder and wind made it feel like much more! Today has been dry so far, the temperature almost at 50, but I can already hear the roll of distant thunder making it's way across the valley.  Pack for rain and be prepared for an adventurous ascent today! Don't worry, there will be hot chocolate waiting for you when you arrive!

Morning, ya'll! Another day in the clouds for us so far this morning. Yesterday's high was 47 and the low was 38 and the clouds hung around all day. It seems as though that is the theme for the rest of the week as well. The mountain received .83" of rain and most of that was overnight. It's not too chilly today though, the temperature is already 47, so at least it wont be too cold on the way up today. But don't let that lull you into a false sense of security....always pack warm, dry clothes to change into and always have that rain gear handy!

A lot of people have been asking for the no-bake cookie recipe....so without further adieu...

Morning biscuit routine .
Good morning, all! I hope everyone had a lovely Easter yesterday. We had beautiful weather all day until right before dusk when the clouds started rolling in. Yesterday's high was 47 and the low was 32. This morning when I woke up, it was 39, but since it started raining about an hour ago, the temperature has dropped to about 34. So bring rain gear and plenty of extra dry clothes if you're coming up today! I believe we are in for rain for the rest of the day.

Stay dry and happy out there!

Happy Easter from a chilly but beautiful mountain top! Yesterday's weather did a complete 180 by lunchtime and the sun came out! It stayed cold though, only reaching 34 with a low of 22. Today is clear and blue and the temperature seems to be hovering right at freezing, but I think it will get slightly warmer as the morning goes on. Perfect weather for an early spring hike!

Everyone have a wonderful day! Happy Easter!
