What a beautiful way to start the day!
Hello, hello! I hope that everyone's day is going well so far. We are gearing up for a busy weekend here on the mountain. Yesterday's high was 60 and the low felt chilly at 40 last night. Sunrise this morning was beautiful and fairly clear with a few wispy clouds to catch the color. Currently though it is 53 and cloudy. Everyone have a wonderful day!

Sunrise this morning.
Hello happy hikers! What a beautiful morning for a walk in the woods! It is clear as a bell this morning and you can see clear across the valley to the Cumberland Plateau. Yesterday's high was 62 and the over night low got down to a very chilly 36. But today it is lovely and warm, already 55 with a pleasant breeze and not a cloud in the sky. This is hammock weather for certain! Everyone be safe and happy today, let the sun shine on your face and the may the mountains make you whole.

An unexpectedly beautiful sunset last night.
Hello all! Writing from a very misty mountain this morning. Yesterday's weather stayed nice all day, a few afternoon showers dropped .01" of rain, but it was sunny for most of the day and warm. The high reached 68, the warmest day we've had so far this season and the low continued to hover at 47. Today we are pretty well socked in, a few showers this morning. But it is already 51 degrees, so it doesn't feel bad at all outside! Have a great Tuesday!

Spring colors are starting to appear.
Bonjour, mes amis! We've had a lovely start to the day so far today. Yesterday's high once again reached 63 and the low was only 47. It stayed relatively socked in for most of the day, but the clouds broke for sunset at the last minute! Today, it is partly cloudy and already up to 57 degrees. There may be showers this afternoon, so pack your rain gear!
Just a reminder that Alum Cave Trail is closed again this morning until Friday morning. A perfect opportunity to meander up to Boulevard or see the mass of wild flowers that takes over Bullhead this time of year! Any which way you come up we will be happy to see you when you arrive!

Foggy day up top.
Happy Mother's Day and good morning! A bit of a dreary day so far, the fog is rolling fast through camp and the clouds are sitting low and heavy with rain that has yet to start falling. But it's warm, at least, right now 53. Yesterday's high reached 63 and the low was 47. Today is threatening to be soggy, so pack accordingly! Everyone stay safe and dry and call your mothers (in fact, that's what I'm doing now!).

Beautiful sunset welcoming me home...
Good morning to all! This is Ruthie again, back on top of the mountain and it is so nice to be home. We had beautiful, warm weather yesterday, perfect for hiking. The high up top reached a balmy 58 and the low was only 46. Even the evening was warm after the sun fell below the horizon, leaving us with a spectacular canopy of starlight to enjoy. We did receive .02" of rain overnight and after a short morning shower during breakfast, it seems that the sun is making its way out an the temperature is already 56. Everyone enjoy this lovely Saturday!

Beautiful day for laundry!

5/8/2015

Picture
Hello down there!  We are having another beautiful day on the mountain. The crew is doing some much needed laundry and making day runs. The word on the trail is the valley is reaching all the way up into the 90's.  One more reason, I'm happy to be on the mountain.  Yesterday's high reached 59, and the low dropped to 42 degrees.  We received .30 inches of rain from a passing thunderstorm.  The weather folks are calling for chances of storms today so if ya'll are planning a day hike, please have proper gear.  It is currently 60 degrees and we are under partly cloudy skies.  Peace.

Llama and the tramp!!!!

Hello down there!  Once again, Brian here.  Its llama day, and their performance was quite admirable.  It wasn't  grocery day but we were in need of more linens.  In the photo, the tramp (aka Andrew Yorks) is feeding Clifford Cliftops a pancake.  We call this up here a llama kiss.  All crew must perform this task before we admit them into the inner sanctum. I'm just joking.  We are having a fun day up here.  It is a warm 57 degrees, under partly cloudy skies.  Yesterdays high reached 61 degrees, and the low dropped to 43.  Have a wonderful day!  Peace

Brad stocking!

Hello down there!  Brian here blogging from the highest kitchen east of The Rockies.  Just another routine day up in the kitchen.  Brad is stocking, getting ready for another round of guests.  The weather has just been fantastic.  Despite yesterday's passing showers, this week has been dry.  Yesterday's high reached 58 degrees, and the low dropped to 39.   We received .20 inches of rain.  It is currently 59 degrees, and partly cloudy.  Have a beautiful day!  Peace

Hello down there!  We are having another beautiful day up here.  It feels as if spring is here to stay.  Lets hope!!  The bears have finally made it to camp so I couldn't think of a better opportunity to chit chat about them.  So...what to say?  Well, this is their home, we are the visitors.  Its very important to give them space and make sure you do not leave packs unattended.  They will snatch it up as if it was a pic-a-nic  basket.  The more comfortable they become around people the more dangerous they are.  The llamas just arrived so I'm going to keep this short.  Really quick, yesterday's high was 58 and the low was 33 degrees.  It is currently 54 degrees under overcast skies.  Hike safe and be vigilant.  Peace
