Good Afternoon All,
Spring is making its way up the mountain more and more each day. Soon we will be up to our knees in wildflowers and tall grass. So much color can be found along the trail as you make your way to the summit. Take your time on the way up and enjoy all the beauty that nature is offering you. The high yesterday got all the way to an warm 63 degrees while the low only dropped to 49 degrees. We did receive a fair amount of rain as well, 0.8 inches to be exact. We are expecting rain showers throughout today and tomorrow. Please come up prepared for the wet weather!

Good morning, The cool spring air this morning was refreshing after a rather warm May. We have been enjoying the sunny days but are also excited for the relaxing feeling the rain will bring this afternoon. Yesterday’s high was a warm 67 and overnight low was a chilly 40. With cooler temps up here, June showers will bring July flowers! Currently, outside it looks like we’ve got clouds moving in.. They don’t seem as threatening as some in the past however, they’ve got a little rain to offer for the weekend. We’ll just have to wait and see! Remember those waterproof layers if you plan on visiting in the next couple of days! Good morning! With a high of 65 yesterday, we welcomed our first unwelcome guest of the season…. a bear! A yearling at best, visiting camp in the middle of dinner service. If you do see a bear on trail or in camp, notify us immediately! Overnight, there were no bear sightings as we hit a low of 40. Remember those jackets and layers if you plan on visiting us soon! This mornings shenanigans included bringing back the plank.. A 2009 fad that just so happened to make its appearance on LeConte today.. Enjoy!! -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) Happy Wednesday! Halfway through our week and we are STILL enjoying the sunshine! Yesterday, our high was 64 and overnight low was 41. And again NO RAIN!!!! We are predicted to have one more day without rain but expecting thunderstorms on Friday. We are excited to introduce Wiley! It is his second trip in the line and is currently doing well at the top! Originally hailing from North Georgia, he is a big llama comparatively. As a spunky, skittish four year old, he isn't used to guests and tourists yet. And yes, he is the llama that was named by our Facebook competition last year (the most response we've ever had on a blog post). Welcome Wiley!! -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) The sun is shining bright on LeConte! Currently at 62 degrees, we are loving the breezy, warm and very busy day. We have noticed an increase in the number of day hikers at the top as the weather has warmed and schools are letting out. Children running around and playing in camp always make us happy. Yesterday, our high for the day was 61 degrees and overnight low was 40 degrees. And FINALLY, for the first time in a couple weeks, we can report there was NO rain over the past 24 hours! Nothing but sunshine for the next two days!! -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) What a wonderful Monday! We have nothing but sunshine shining its rays on the mountain and we are loving it after our weeks of rain. Yesterday, we had a little sunshine but stayed in the clouds after around 4:00 and received a strong thunder storm that lasted about 30 minutes. That rain brought our total for the day to .22 inches and total for the year to 43.90 inches. Our high temp for yesterday was 64 and overnight low was 39 degrees. Yes, you read that right, 39 degrees overnight. If you are planning on visiting us as an overnight guest, remember those layers! While its 90 degrees down below, we remain 20 degrees cooler up top. Come enjoy the cool spring air with us! -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) Good Afternoon! Today has been a gorgeous day! With temps currently at 63 degrees, its perfect weather to run around in the sun. And yes, we finally got some sun! After what felt like three weeks straight of clouds and rain, a majority of our day was filled with sunshine, birds singing and bugs crawling around. We have loved the change of pace even though, as I type this, the rain clouds are coming in again. Yesterday was a busy day in terms of day hikers visiting the lodge. We did get a few calls about an aggressive bear on Rainbow Falls Trail. It's the time of year for bears! If you do see a bear on the trail, please stay away from it, yell at it, and especially if it is in camp, let us know immediately. Yes they are fun to look at, but we don't want anyone getting hurt on trail or at the lodge. For weather yesterday, our high was 60, and overnight low was 52. As we were loading the llamas for their trip back down, it poured buckets on us and we were all soaked! While it wasn't the best scenario, we enjoyed making the memories in the rain. There's always a new experience to be had on LeConte! With that rain, and rain overnight, we had a total of .93 inches for the past 24 hours. This brings our grand total to 43.68 inches this season. Hope you all enjoy the last of the weekend and are ready for a fantastic Monday! -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) Happy Friday, We can't believe its June! Though we were expecting nonstop rain throughout the day, we’ve had some clouds and wind but mainly sunshine! The only rain left has been spotted on spiderwebs. We are loving the change of pace and are excited for the clear, warm weather predicted for tomorrow. Yesterday, our high was 60 degrees even with the cool, dense rain. Overnight our low was 49 degrees as we received .57 inches of rain throughout the 24 hour period. Enjoy the warm, sunny weather and remember to fill those water bottles! -Adventure is out there.
