Good Morning, And what a beautiful morning it is. It didn't start out so beautiful though. I woke this morning to the roar of heavy rain pounding against my cabin. We received 1.5 inches of rain overnight and there was no sign of it clearing up. But out of no where the rain clouds lifted giving way to one of the more spectacular mornings so far this year. With camp still dripping dry and a constant breeze we are having a pretty chilly morning, 48 degrees to be exact. But with the sun out we are warming up fast, currently at 59 degrees. All of crew seems to be working double time to hurry up get out on those trails on such a beautiful morning. Fingers crossed this weather last the day though the forecast says differently. We are expecting the strong winds to blow more rain clouds our way. -Adventure is out there.

Good Afternoon, "Going to the mountains is going home" -John Muir And what a beautiful home we have here. On such nice days like today it is hard not to be outside. Today you will find crew walking the trails, laying in the sun at cliff tops or reading a book out at myrtle point. We could not ask for better weather to accompany these amazing views. We are currently at 61 degrees and we are not expecting to get much hotter today. Last night we got as low as 50 degrees which made for a great nights sleep. Still holding back on rain for the day. -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) Good Afternoon, Another beautiful day here at LeConte Lodge. There is a slight breeze in the air cooling things off a bit. We are currently at 64 degrees but the sunshine certainly makes it feel warmer. We are continuing our lucky streak of another rain free day. Overnight lows are still staying in the low 50s. Yesterday we celebrated Larrys 200th hike up to LeConte Lodge. Congratulations Larry! He has been hiking in the Smoky National Park area for many years but his favorite has got to be Mount LeConte. All of crew are always excited to see Larry when he makes his trek up (not just because of the treats he brings us). Great job Larry and here's to 200 more! -Adventure is out there.

Temperatures for the day are on the rise, currently at 67 degrees but expecting to get much hotter. Camp is filling up quick with day hikers who made the trek to the top to enjoy this wonderful weather and take in the amazing views of the smokies. We are starting to see American Turks Cap Lilies blossom around camp (a crew favorite). These flowers are rare for us to find here at the top for they are a favorite snack for the deer. With clear blue skies, bright green fields and splashes of colorful wildflowers scattered throughout camp, today is certainly a picture perfect day. -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) Good Morning, It was a little bit cooler yesterday compared to last week. We saw a high of 64 degrees and dropped to 52 degrees last night. Woke this morning in a cloud so dense I couldn't see five feet in front of me. Still a bit overcast as the day continues. A little rainfall yesterday coming in at 0.35 inches. Expecting scattered showers throughout the day but no major storms on the horizon. If planning a hike up be sure to pack that rain gear. This mornings sunrise may not have been eventful but last nights sunset was one for the books. As the rain cleared, leaving the trees dripping dry, we got some wonderful color that filled the evening sky. We are starting to see more and more "monks hood" surrounding camp. These bright purple flowers certainly stand out amongst all the green. Be sure to make a visit while all the wild flowers are in bloom but only take pictures, leave the flowers to grow and let others enjoy their beauty. -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) Good Afternoon, We are being overrun here at the lodge with so much green and we love it. Looks like all that rain is worth it. With each passing summer day we find more and more flowers starting to blossom. It won't be much longer till all of camp gets transformed into mixing bowl of color. Currently we are at 62 degrees which is not much of a change from last nights low of 55 degrees. Rainfall scattered throughout the day but just light showers, no major storms. Every once in a while the sun peaks out from behind the clouds and warms us up. -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) Good Afternoon All, And Merry Christmas to all.....thats right, Christmas in July. Today the crew will be celebrating the wonderful holiday of half Christmas. We will be exchanging gifts with secret Santa and drinking eggnog and wearing our ugly Christmas sweaters. It is sure to be a great time. Even the llama train is in on the festivities. We have pictured, Hersey, rocking a Christmas bow while posing with assistant manager Allison. All the way from the top of the mountain we wish you all a Merry Christmas in July. The weather seems to be in the holiday spirit as well with a high of only 61 degrees and a low of 51. Little bit of rain yesterday, 0.15 inches. No rain fall today but heavy cloud cover surrounds the mountain. Expecting rain late this evening. -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) Good evening, Its been a grey day up top while currently at 59 degrees. Intermittent rain has kept us in our rooms by warm fires. Yesterday, our high was a warm 68 while our overnight low was a cool 52 degrees. We received .25 inches of rain overnight ending around 1 am. Its been a good day to explore the wet moss for a while then come warm back up with a warm cup of hot chocolate by the fire in the dining room. Get your rain gear on and enjoy a wet Saturday on LeConte! -Adventure is out there
(35.654261, -83.436827) Good afternoon! Yesterday was another pleasant one with overcast skies for a majority of the day. With a high of 69 and overnight low of 52, we concluded the rainless and cool day with colors of sunset behind the clouds. Our crew spotlight today is Kelli! Kelli traded the flat, hot lands of Florida, to elevated land in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. While new to the crew, she is no stranger to the mountain, Kelli has been visiting the mountain since she was a child with her family. Her favorite trail is Alum Cave because of the wonderful view it hosts. If not working, you'll most likely find her at Myrtle Point basking in the warm sun. We are happy to welcome Kelli and are excited to have her for the rest of the season! -Adventure is out there
(35.654261, -83.436827) Greetings All, Today can't seem to make its mind up as we constantly switch from beautiful sunshine to dense fog and possible rain. As I ran around camp completing my daily routines I decided to slow down and appreciate the nature I am in. Im glad I did. Resting on a freshly blossomed Cone Flower I saw this little guy. Never would have spotted him if I hadn't have slowed down a bit. So lessoned learned, take your time and enjoy all that is around you in the present. You never know what you might see. Especially on LeConte in the summer, the mountain is full of so much life this time of the year. Yesterday we saw a high of 68 degrees and only dropped to 54 degrees overnight. Things are certainly warming up here. No rain fall yesterday but a slight chance this evening. -Adventure is out there
