Good morning - Yesterday's high was 51 the low was 33. We received no rain. Today is sunny and 48.
#nocomment Afternoon, all! Well, after a thoroughly soggy Saturday (we had an inch of rain!), we awoke to one of the prettiest inversions I have seen all season. It was cool all day yesterday, the high only reaching 47, and this morning you could feel the creeping chill of winter just barely sliding a frosty toe in Autumn's door with the temperature dipping to 36 overnight. Today is a bit warmer, already 50 degrees, but some clouds have moved in so be prepared for any kind of weather if hiking up!
Hello again from a saturated Saturday morning! Our afternoon rains held off until after dinner last night, dropping .81" of steady, lullaby-like rain that was a delight to fall asleep listening to. We are in a pretty steady temperature holding pattern right now- once again the high was 59 and the low was 42. Right now it is 47 and raining lightly. Safe and happy trails to all!
Hello, hello! A very busy Friday so far up on the mountain, so I'll be brief. Yesterday's high was 59 and the overnight low was 42 once again. We received no rain yesterday, but we had showers this morning and more are expected this evening. Right now it is 49 degrees and misty. TTFN!
Good morning! Sorry about yesterday's absent blog- sometime in the night my computer decided to "upgrade" itself and I had to get Austin (#techsupport #iknownothingabouttechnology #thereisareasoniliveinthewoods) to re-setup the internet! Yesterday was an odd sort of day, weather-wise...it started out as clear as a bell and then around lunch time, the only cloud in the sky, apparently, decided to move in and sit on us all afternoon. The high was only 59 and the overnight low was 42. Right now it is partly cloudy and still quite cool-only 49 degrees. Those rocking chairs look like a great place to come lounge in the sunshine....
Good morning, sunshine! Another beautiful morning for us up top. Yesterday stayed warm, the high was 64 and the low was 47 over night. It was clear or the most part, only clouding up during dinner. But it cleared out again for a beautiful sunrise this morning. It is currently clear and cool at 54 degrees. Beautiful October-blue skies today!
We had almost forgotten what the sky looked like! Yesterday was mostly cloudy and very windy, but dry all day. The high was 57 and the low overnight was 47. Today the clouds have finally moved off and we have beautiful blue skies! It is also warmer than it has been lately, already 62 degrees. This is prime October hiking weather if you ask me....see y'all on top!
Hello again! What a stormy weekend we have had! Yesterday 1.22" of rain fell, less than expected but still a significant amount. The high was 53 and the low was 46 overnight. Today has been very windy and grey. It is cool, only 48 degrees at the moment.
And now a haiku from some of our guests who stayed Oct. 1: Hiking in the rain- The stream and path are one- Dry cabin awaits. "From the gang in Cabin 10 after hiking up Trillium Gap Trail." -Peter & Ester Bent -Donna & Jeff Sell -David Negrotto Good afternoon! Well, we are still afloat on the mountain, but it feels like we might get blown away before the day is out. There has been rain on and off all day with more to come this evening and strong, gusting wind. Yesterday's high was 57 and the low overnight was 47. It's chilly right now at 50 degrees. Everyone hiking today take caution when crossing streams as they will be very rapid. Also be aware of fallen branches and slippery trail conditions. I would personally suggest against taking Rainbow Falls trail up either today or tomorrow based on the amount of rain that has fallen and forecast to fall tonight. Be safe everyone!
