 A rainbow right behind the Laundry last evening. Good evening, gracious blog readers! Today has been a little mixed up with the weather, so I guess the blog will be too! Yesterday's high was only 61 and the low was 48 overnight and we received .01" of light rain over the course of the day. Today has been cool in the upper 50's and low 60's and sunny...and then cloudy...and then rainy....and now sunny again. Tomorrow calls for rain showers and these cooler temperatures will continue, so plan for both while packing! Everyone have a great night!

That brings about a question. What is in the Laundry cabin? I know the linens are handled by the llamas, but how do crew members clean their clothes? Is there a washing machine running on solar power or do you use the old method of a tub and a washboard?

They use a tub and washboard! There are also employee quarters in the laundry cabin ;)

While visiting in Knoxville someone told me about Mount Le Conte lodge and this blogger page. It seems like an interesting place to go sometime and I hope I can get someone to guide me there. It looks pleasant there.

My son, Whit, & I had a great hike up (much later than we meant to be). Get an early start on the day if you're hiking up. It is strenuous but worth every single step! Comments are closed.
