Crew Thanksgiving Dinner

11/21/2010

Picture
I apologize for not posting anything earlier today. I have been up since 5:30 this morning getting ready for our annual "Crew Thanksgiving Dinner". This is our last big meal as a "LeConte Family". The crew is getting packed up and anticipating the arrival of Wednesday. Our summer break is coming soon.  Today is looking like another amazing day. The high yesterday was 44 with a low of 34. The snow is mostly gone and the ice on the trails has turned to slush.

Looks like another delicious meal for a wonderful crew. Happy Thanksgiving, LeConte Family! Hike safely, drive safely, and enjoy your time down from the mountain with family and friends. See you again, when the mountains call all of us back again. God Bless you and yours.

I am so thankful to all of you everytime I view your site. Enjoy your well deserved break down among us commoners...and the next few months in the fast lane. You will be ready to return up top by March just to catch your breath and hopefully my schedule will allow me to return as well with the Tecumseh gang at least once next year. I am hopeful my husband will be able to experience the view up top with us then, so he will have a better idea of what all the talk of LeConte is about. An awesome place with an awesome crew!
Happy Trails to you till we meet again!

Thanks to everyone for all that you do. I made my last hike for 2010 up on Sunday while I was traveling in the area for work. I was by myself this time, but met as always so many nice people on the trail and at the top, particularly the dayhikers from Dahlonega GA.

I was able to make it up and back down and then drive 300 miles home to Auburn, AL! I was tired, but it was a "good" tired! Looking forward to doing it again when I get make it up that way.

Everyone there, enjoy the off season and Happy Thanksgiving.
