Good morning folks,

It’s another fine morning in camp. The French toast is warm with syrup and the coffee is brewing. All is well! The high yesterday reached 36 degrees. The overnight low dipped down to 17 degrees. It’s currently 22 degrees with calm winds. No precipitation was recorded. Looking ahead, temperatures will gradually warm into next week. Hope everyone is able to get out and enjoy the park. Have a great weekend folks.

Welp, this is my last weekend as caretaker on the mountain. One couldn’t have asked for better weather that has been trending for over a week now. Sun has hovered over the Smokies with blue bird days as I call them. Birds are very active as they feel the early signs of spring. Sunset did get a bit cloudy but decided to reward with soft pinks and blues from the back of the kitchen. I should add that the junction of Boulevard and Myrtle is really icy until you get to the rock slide. You will need traction in that section. After that all clear! Come on up and enjoy the weather. See you at the top!

Thanks so much P'nut.
My numerous health issues have kept me from summiting Le Conte the last 23 yrs. Your inspiring blog& beautiful photography give me hope everyday to keep working on my rehab until once again I will stand on Cliff Tops to watch a beautiful sunset& stay overnight at the lodge.Happy Trails!
