Not an ideal laundry day.
It is 52 degrees now but feels colder with the misting rain, spurring the llamas to munch down their biscuits at records speeds. Rex, as usual, was as calm as a cucumber and sat down in the mud to rest after his second-breakfast.
The day has remained in this state of general grey silken silhouettes, which is lovely, but makes flipflops a bit unreasonable and ones feet a bit mucky.
The influx of day-hikers was surprising considering the wetness, and it was quite nice to have everyone done in the dining hall lunching and sipping hot chocolate in between photo shoots with the llamas. Company is always appreciated in overcast weather.
There is a strong possibility of unfriendly weather (down in the 30s I have heard) this weekend, so I would like to share a word of caution with any hikers or guests coming up to see us.
Pack waterproof, warm, and bring headlamps or flashlights even is you are just day-hiking. The paths are sure to be slip, so please be careful and it might behoove one to use micro-spikes or other foot-wear traction devices.
We at the Lodge would love to see you and understand ones safety comes first and hope that if the weather is unsafe you will come see us another time.
