October Skies

I watched the sun and moon again this morning. I decided to give you a picture of the sun this time. Ok, maybe just the beautiful colors. It has been amazing weather this past week. The views have been clear and you can see great distances. There have been a lot of day hikers up top. The high yesterday was 59 with a low of 40. The crew only has  32 days left up top.

Hey, has there ban any word on the hiker that fell and had spinal injures on Alum Cave Trail a few days back?

I'm coming up on a day hike on 10/30/10. It will be my second time... I am planing to do a loop on Rainbow Falls & Bull Head trails. Which one should I come up? You pictures are awesome!

Guy, We went up Rainbow and down Bullhead one year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rainbow seems to have more rocks and we thought it would easier going up the rocks than down. I hope your day is clear because there are some beautiful overlooks coming down Bullhead. Have fun!

My daughter and I spent Saturday night up in the cabins. I want to thank Allison and her amazing crew for a spectacular weekend. A special shout out to John for his hospitality showing us around. I haven't received that type of service at a Westin Hotel.

With the great dinner and breakfast, and expecially the bottomless wine cup, I am amazed at how smoothly the logistics are handled. Seeing that everything comes up on the back of a llama the variety and quality of food is awesome.

The weather couldn't have been better even if the Chamber of Commerce had specified it.

The most fun is from a friendly community that develops even though we are together less than 24hours.

Thanks one and all for a fabulous birthday weekend.

Out of curiosity, what does the crew do in the off season, besides the winter caretaker?

Thanks Jeanie!

I would agree with Jeanie 100% on the question about Rainbow and Bullhead.
As for the question about what the crew does in the off season, it depends on the crew. Some find other jobs, some travel, some just veg out and wait for the next season to come around. We have a very eclectic bunch so the answers are going to be very eclectic.
