It is a fine start to another Saturday around the lodge. It is a cool morning and the sun is rising over High Top. This air brings out the silliness in the crew. Practical jokes surround the lodge in laughter. Chris was the unlucky recipient of the girls fighting dirty. He thought he was being sneaky by preparing to spray me with a water hose, so I turned the tables and got him with a bucket of water before he could spray me. At the same time Ruthie got him from the side. We mountain girls are tough. I am surprised he hasn't learned that over the past 12 seasons. Practical jokes help keep our spirits lite. It is a great way to bond and keep our souls smiling. The biggest one the crew likes is to hide and scare each other. Hiding under beds, behind doors, or just standing in the dark with your head lamp off can bring the little kid out in all of us. I must admit, I get a kick out of keeping Chris on his toes. The say laughter is the best medicine, no wonder I hardly ever get sick.
