Rain, rain & some wind for good measure.

A llama picture from last week to make you forget about the nasty weather!
Good morning,

Things are looking rough up here today! We had 1.6 inches of rain yesterday. The low was 38. The high was 44. It was 43 and drizzling at weather observation this morning. There's a 100% chance of precipitation up here today. Be ready to get wet! Be aware that sitting around is uncomfortable when you stop moving. The wind gusts have been intense.

I've had to get used to the creaky noises that the kitchen & my cabin make in these conditions. It was so beautiful just a few days ago! That is life in the mountains.

It looks like another day spent primarily indoors. We may get some light snow accumulation tomorrow. Can't wait!

Safe hiking!

Ever see or read the "Shining"? Just saying...

Tony, I have thought about that more than once while reading JPs posts... haha

Be too scary for me to be there alone.

LOL Tony Ga, I was just going to say that I hope you didn't bring any scary books up there with you with all those creaking sounds!

I think the area is about to get a little taste of what ole man winter has in store for us over the coming weeks/months. Living just outside Sevierville I don't think we have it bad at all but with the amount of rain (mixed with some snow) we are looking for, you will probably get a good deal of the white stuff. The wife and I are thinking about making a day hike up one day next week if the weathers decent. If there is something you'd like us to bring let me know.

Btw, we noticed this morning that the entire mountain (LeConte) was hidden by the clouds from town. It was like it wasn't even there.

Take care up there.

The warm wet then the cold with possible snow sounds like perfect weather for observing the Three-Toed Squisher. Be on the look out for this facinating critter.

I see everyone is having fun terrorizing you. I'd love to be on that mountain myself. Has to get rather boring at times. And boy, when the people come up its just like me saying at my house, "Oh, there is life out there!" Enjoy!

Three toed squisher? That is scary. Take care up there.

Sounds like everyone is trying to creep you out. To further that, next time you're at the visitors center look for the book by title of Disappearances in the Smoky Mountains or some such name. Tells all about people who have disappeared down there. Makes me look over my shoulder every time I'm hiking!

JP, you're much safer up there than we are down here.

Brent,
Trust me, I know! I am not worried about 'the shinning' (no shelley duvall up here to drive me crazy), ghost stories or a squisher. Life is perfect up here.
