Return of LeConte Falls

The bottom fell out right around dinner time. LeConte Fallls returned with a vengeance. We were beginning to wonder if the swimming hole in front of the dining room door was going to continue into the dining room. Luckily, our drainage worked properly and the water soon made its way down the mountain. The high yesterday was a cool 59º with a low of 51º.

We had a full house last night. You can tell summer is in full swing. Mid season is only 10 days away.  Luckily, the rain stopped and made way for a great sunset. The kids were able to enjoy a little time outdoors before settling in for the night.

I've been to the Leconte Falls. Ha! Last year 4th of July. I have a picture of myself, standing on those steps, rushing waters, just a laughing!!!

Hey Debi , We were there too last July 3rd and 4th a very wet hike up and down , I'd do it again in a minute because we love that Mt. Leconte.

It was great fun Tim. Those little cabins dry your clothes out fast when you crank the heat up. I was just a little bummed when we didn't get to see the fireworks that night. I do hope its nice this year when I go. I think I've hiked up that mountain more times in rain and snow and icy trail then being nice. But still can't beat it.

THAT'S a lot of water! Followed by a beautiful sunset.... I could do that. Love the pictures, Mother Nature is full of surprises and beautiful things.

Wow! What a deluge! I've never seen it like that. Lucky it didn't flood the dining room!
