2013 Season Guest Sightings

Cynthia and Donnie Mitchell hiked up to spend the night and celebrate their birthdays. Happy Birthday to you both, from the LeConte Lodge crew.

The White and Tortorici groups visited us for a night up top. Combined they have over 60 years on the mountain. They must like this place.

The gang made it back up to help us start the season off. Thanks to Tim Wilson, Ann Furr, Randal Flynn, Janice Zamostny, Larry Crabtree, and John May for bringing in the new season.

2012 Season Guest Sightings

Keeping with tradition, we know it is the end of the season when these guys show up. Tim Wilson, Larry Crabtree, Alyssa Moore, and JP McQuilling joined us for a couple of days on the mountain.

Debbie and John Stinnett were at the lodge celebrating their 38th wedding anniversary.

The Purtee Family visited from Lebanon, TN

Ben Fitzgerald celebrated his 100th hike to the lodge. Congratulations, Ben.

A group from Woodmont Christian Church stayed over night at the lodge. They are from Nashville, TN

We were happy to see Jackie DuBose return to the mountain after 12 years. She hiked up to celebrate her 69 birthday and test out her new knees. Her future daughter-in-law, Holly Wade, her son, Dennis, and her husband, Tom, hiked up to celebrate.

The Jordan Party decided to meet on Mt. LeConte for a reunion. They joined us from all over Tennessee.

These local boys were sweet enough to hike up some home grown tomatoes for the staff. They made for a great tomato sandwich. Thanks Chuck Fleming, Doug Maples, and Steve Edwards.

The Smithyman party joined us from Nashville for the evening. They have three generations that hiked up the mountain together.

The Lennard family hails from Florida and Mississippi. While the folks from the Sunshine State didn't get much sunshine during their stay, they did luck into a fine sunset.

Mr. and Mrs. Green hiked up from Lafayette, TN to celebrate their 10th Anniversary.

The Chattanooga Hiking Club climbed Mt. LeConte to celebrate Ray Myer's 80th birthday.

Sue and James Nations with their friend Inez Dill. Mr. Nations decided it was pajama day on the mountain. He wore his pajamas for dinner and breakfast. I have to say, I was little jealous.

The Wibbenmeyors visited us St. Louis, MO.

Congratulations to Brittany Greene and Whitfield Bailey on their engagement while hiking up Rainbow Falls. They are from Knoxville.

Terry & Rita Dachs from Waterford, Michigan

David Gullett visited the mountain. He is from Winchester, Ky. He also brought the crew some delicious fudge. Thanks David.

The Heber party joined us again from the Nashville/ Crossville area.

2011 Season Guest Sightings

The boys are back. That means one thing. The end of the season is here. Good to see Tim and Larry once again.

Jean Stuczynski, in white, brought her daughter Christine and her son-in-law Deva up the mountain for their first visit to the lodge.

Jason and Tom Donoghue hiked up and spent the night with us. They were lucky to see some snow the next morning.

Sue Poteet,Jordan Treece,Tommy Poteet,Jared Treece, Debrah Schneider, and Kolby Poteet, hiked up to check out the beautiful fall weather on the mountain.

The Sailer party hikes up every year at this time. It was fun for friends and family.

John and Sherri Shedd celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on the mountain.

Jean Stuczynski came all the way from Illinois to see the mountain and the llamas.

Jerry Luth brought his 6 year old grandson, Jake, up to the lodge for his first trip.

Julie Schlembach and Nina Fellman of Nice, France are visiting some family friends and were able to come up the mountain before they head home.

Deidre, Danielle, Donita, and their father Ken, hiked up the mountain and celebrated their birthdays. They visit us every year and get to celebrate all of their birthdays with us.

The crew with one of our favorite guests. Buzz Tatham spends 6 days with us every July. He likes to escape the Georgia heat during the summer.

We want to wish John's parents, Dick and Pat Northrup, a happy 31st wedding anniversary. They hiked up to LeConte the day after their wedding, 31 years ago.

Eli Spake, Taryn Spake,Jim Spake, Michael Wayt, Theo Wayt, and Melinda Flurry-Wayt visited us from Memphis.

Sydney, Ritchie,Ganelle, and Riley Rivers visited us from Amite, Lousiana.

Richard Smith brought his grandson Connor Grier to the lodge.

Paul Romanick brought his grandson Blake McDonald up to the lodge for his first trip.

Stacy McMahan, Ashley McPherson, John Paul McPherson, Gene Villanueva, Lesley Villanueva, Don Strong, and Sharon Strong decided to hike up to the lodge for the day. Lesley is one of our co-workers in the office in Sevierville. It is always fun to see the office women in our neck of the woods.

From Southeast Texas, Robin & Kevin A. and their sons Scott (age 6) and Collin (who just turned 3) along with Dakota and Mike Thompson. Surprisingly, Collin walked up the first 6 hours of their 7 hour trek up Alum Cave Bluffs Trail! What a trooper!!

Harriett and Ken Taylor stayed with us for a couple of days. For all of you HOL regulars, you may recognize Ken's name. He stops by the blog on a regular basis.

Mary 'Flutewalker' Drake stayed with us for a few nights on her way to Maine. She is thruhiking the Appalachian Trail.

Once again, Tim Wilson and Larry Crabtree are here to help us start the 2011 season.

Marty and Kim Teffeteller celebrated their 25th Anniversary by staying at the Lodge on Opening night. They are from Maryville, TN.

2010 Season Guest Sightings

Tim Wilson and Larry Crabtree helped us ring in the new season in March, and now they are here to close out the season.

Katie Horovitz and Joe Eberly got married at the lodge on November 11th. Congratulations!!
