​Heat wave inbound!  Summer is here and it isn’t messing around.  Temps at the Lodge are back to where they typically are this time of year, ranging from 50s to 60s.  While down in the lower elevations and gateway communities, day time highs are making their gradual march from 80s to 90s in the coming days.  If you have plans of visiting the area leading up to the big holiday, please take note and plan accordingly to enjoy the outdoors safely and comfortably.  The heat and humidity here - especially if you aren’t used to it back home - can humble a person real quick.  Skies are a mix of sun and clouds today, and will begin that way tomorrow as well before storm chances return for the afternoon.  Be ready to swap out the sunglasses and wide brim hats for rain ponchos at a moment’s notice if tackling our trails.

Speaking of the upcoming festive holiday…are you spending some quality mountain time here in the Smokies soon?  Do you have aspirations of conquering mighty Mt.
