Tis another glorious morning,

We’ve been spoiled of late by superb skies and stunning solar spectacles. Our multi-day streak of vivid sunrises and soothing sunsets have been the perfect bookends to a day on this mightiest of mountains. And no two have been the same, nor does admiring their beauty ever grow tiresome. The calling of distant horizons, the unending folds of countless ridges, the luring of colors not thought to be possible on the light spectrum…all making it easy to get lost in wonder and the slow passing of time. Just one of numerous perks while enjoying a retreat at Tennessee’s most famous lodge!

Now that temps have risen from the chilly cellar of recent days, and the sunshine has held control of the heavens, the opportunities for exploring the wilderness are optimal. Combine that with it being the front end of a holiday weekend and you have the makings for a busy mountain top. Yesterday was no exception, as ambitious hikers, sunbath seekers, and “I Hiked It” shirt hunters seized the day and conquered the summit. Visitors should get to enjoy fairly decent conditions for the better part of this Sunday before clouds thicken and rain chances resume as early as this afternoon. The trend leading into the start of the new week shows wet and stormy conditions. It certainly appears that the month of May intends on concluding much like it began, so we’ll be sure to savor these beautiful sunny moments while we have them!
