You have to be the luckiest person in the world.I have been to LeConte numerous times.My favorite memory is with a now deceased friend the winter of 94 I believe.Three of us were the only people to have backcountry passes. We parked at the cherokee orchard loop ranger station and walked to the shelter at Leconte.When we hit the lodge there was at least 2.5 foot of snow at the lodge.We snuck in the caretakers cabin to warm up by his oil heater. He was quite surprised to find the three of us there when he came in from the kitchen.That place is holy,cherish every moment there.
