Good afternoon,
Thunder storms seem to be skirting around us but aren’t touching us. One of the perks of being above 6,000 feet! Sprinkles are making some rocks and grass wet making for slippery conditions. Be careful walking around! Yesterday, we did receive some afternoon thundershowers (.5 inches) while our high temp for the day hit 67 and overnight low hit 50. While currently at 62, it feels pretty warm on the mountain with anticipation of afternoon storms. Enjoy the rainy day and don’t forget the rain gear!

Good afternoon,
Good Morning All, Looks like we are going to be spending the day in the clouds. Doesn't seem like we are gonna get any rain from these clouds, just lots of shade. These heavy and giant clouds are keeping us cool today making for some great day hikes. Most of crew has already hit the trails, exploring Myrtle Point or searching for clear views off of Boulevard Trail. Yesterday we had another rain free day. The high for yesterday was a warmish 69 degrees with a low of 51 degrees. We are currently at 59 degrees. With no rain on the forecast for today the trails surrounding Mount LeConte are literally begging for some hikers. So lace up those hiking boots at hit the trails. -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) Good morning With another rain free day everyone is enjoying the sunshine. A few clouds hanging in the sky adding character to all the views. Yesterdays high was 68 degrees with a low of 48 degrees. We are currently at a cool 56 degrees and expected to warm up a bit. With temperatures getting lower each night we are seeing first signs of fall. A lone orange leave seems oddly out of place when surrounded by so much green but we are excited to see fall is on the way. -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) Good Afternoon,
With socked in skies and cooler air we are loving this weather. Camp is quiet for a change while all the squirrels and birds are hiding in anticipation of this afternoons storms (remember those rain jackets!). Yesterday, along with blue skies, we had a high of 67 while our overnight low hit a chilly 48. Currently, we are at 62 degrees with a light breeze causing day hikers to want a light jacket. We hope to see you at the top! Good Afternoon All, We would like to take a moment to highlight Trillium Gap Trail. Often referred to as Grotto Falls, it is 6.7 miles from the parking lot to the summit of Mount LeConte. Major attraction along the trail is the Grotto Falls. With a rushing waterfall overhead hikers get to walk behind the falls for a brief moment on the trail. Truly a must see inside the park. Come up Trillium and there is a good chance you will run into the llama train. They use Trillium on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays to bring supplies to the lodge. If you encounter the llamas on the trail be sure to listen out for the llama wranglers instructions to ensure a safe passage for the llamas. Whether you are out for a day hike or coming all the way to the top of the mountain, Trillium Gap Trail is certainly one you want to cross of your list. We are currently at 56 degrees. Yesterdays high was 62 degrees with a low of 49 degrees. No rain on the forecast for this evening. -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) Good morning, While typing this, we are at a chilly 52 degrees with a light breeze from time to time making things even colder. Yesterday, we hit a high of 63 and our overnight low reached a chilly 43. We are currently socked in right now (much like the picture below) but are hoping the skies will clear as the day goes on. Below, is a throwback picture to the off season. Our Winter Caretaker, Seth Orme, posted this along with many other amazing photos. This one was posted February 20th of this season. When you get a chance, look back on these posts from Seth and enjoy immersing yourself in his writing. Have a fantastic Saturday! (35.654261, -83.436827) Good Morning! While currently at a balmy 46, all of the crew were huddled by the warm heater in the dining room after quickly setting up the dining room. We are all enjoying the cooler weather but it still takes some getting used to! We had a high yesterday of 63 (although I never took off my sweatshirt) and hit our overnight low of 36. Today, it is expected to be a warm and sunny day as we will hopefully reach the mid 60s. With the llamas coming up, we are ready to enjoy today to its fullest! -Adventure is out there.
(35.654261, -83.436827) Good Morning,
The sun is back out for us today and looks like it will stay that way into the weekend. Not a single cloud insight is great relief for us knowing its not going to rain. Yesterday we received 0.50 inches of rain. It got cold last night as the low reached all the way down to 37 degrees while the high was only 55 degrees. We are warming up a bit today as we are currently at 58 degrees. With such perfect weather at the top it will be hard pressed to find anyone indoors. As the trails begin to fill up and the lodge starts to see first signs of day hikers we like to wish everyone happy hiking today. Good Afternoon, Another day spent in a cloud. Not much sunshine leaking through the dense clouds so temperatures are a little bit on the chilly side with yesterdays high at 61 degrees and an overnight low of 52 degrees. We received 0.70 inches of rain yesterday and looks like more rain for today. No major storms on the horizon, just scattered showers throughout the day and into the night. Be sure to bring that rain gear if you plan a hike up and an extra layer for these chilly nights would be a good idea too. -Adventure is out there.
