Good morning folks,

Its another soggy, wet start to the morning. Rain is soaking into camp like a sponge. The high yesterday reached 47 degrees. The overnight low dropped down to 41 degrees. It’s currently 47 degrees with rain and light wind. We received 0.29” of precipitation. Plan on wet feet if you make your way to the summit on any of the trails. Have a good one.

Welp, the time has come for me to head down from LeConte. It has been a pleasure sharing pictures and fun adventures with everyone. This mountain does so many things for all of us. Thank you Mt. LeConte for everything. Well, back to work on trail crew in Cades Cove!! Spring is near folks. Love you all and keep smiling!
As always, SEE YOU AT THE TOP!

Good morning folks,

Its a moody start to the morning. The robins are chirping and enjoying the saturated grounds of Leconte. A little Junco yesterday was taking a bird bath as I washed the dishes. The high yesterday reached 51. The overnight low only dropped down to 40 degrees. It’s currently 45 degrees. We received 0.55” of precipitation. All roads are open. Trails are soggy and like quick sand from the thaw cycle we experience on LeConte. Micro spikes are not needed at this time. Stay dry folks! The birds are enjoying the morning, as well as I. SEE YOU AT THE TOP!

Good morning folks,

Its a soggy start to this Wednesday. Roaring fork has earned its name from the amount of rain the mountain received. The high yesterday reached 46 degrees. The overnight low dropped down to 38 degrees. It’s currently 41 degrees and still raining. We received 2.47” of precipitation from this first system of rain. The next round is coming in on Thursday. Another relaxing day on the mountain. All roads are open! SEE YOU AT THE TOP!

Good morning folks,

Its a moody, socked in morning on the mountain. The winds are surging through camp. The high yesterday was 41 degrees. The overnight low dropped down to 32 degrees. It’s currently 43 degrees and warming quickly. We received 0.13” of precipitation. No snow has been recorded. There are patches of ice on Alum as I hiked my fiancé Haley down yesterday then ran back up. It was a cloudy warm day yesterday. Anyways , Juncos chirp as they hop around the back of the kitchen. It’s going to be a relaxing week on the ole mountain. The temps will be warm this week. This will be my last week on the mountain. It’s time for me to head down for the season. It’s been a pleasure and honor being the caretaker the past 3 seasons. My time here has come to an end. This will be my last season on LeConte. I will be marrying my best friend in October!! Very excited for what’s ahead. I will still be helping with many operations here in camp. You will see my face around folks. Thank you all for being so awesome. Keep hiking and keep smiling! SEE YOU AT THE TOP!

Good morning folks,

What a wild ride it was last night. Winds rocked with gusts upwards of 70-80 mph. I was glad to see the wind move out around 10pm. The high yesterday reached 47 degrees. Heat Wave! The overnight low only dropped down to 26 degrees. It’s currently 27 degrees with calm wind. We received 2.32” precipitation with 0” of snow. Almost all snow/ice is gone. There is still a thin layer of ice that has formed from the heavy rain and freeze thaw cycle. Micro spikes might be helpful in certain areas. Sun has returned just in time for the weekend. Y’all have a great day! SEE YOU AT THE TOP!
