Good morning folks,

Its a moody, socked in morning on the mountain. The winds are surging through camp. The high yesterday was 41 degrees. The overnight low dropped down to 32 degrees. It’s currently 43 degrees and warming quickly. We received 0.13” of precipitation. No snow has been recorded. There are patches of ice on Alum as I hiked my fiancé Haley down yesterday then ran back up. It was a cloudy warm day yesterday. Anyways , Juncos chirp as they hop around the back of the kitchen. It’s going to be a relaxing week on the ole mountain. The temps will be warm this week. This will be my last week on the mountain. It’s time for me to head down for the season. It’s been a pleasure and honor being the caretaker the past 3 seasons. My time here has come to an end. This will be my last season on LeConte. I will be marrying my best friend in October!! Very excited for what’s ahead. I will still be helping with many operations here in camp. You will see my face around folks. Thank you all for being so awesome. Keep hiking and keep smiling! SEE YOU AT THE TOP!

Thanks for the great posts! While some physical ills have ended my many years (25!) of trips to the lodge, it remains a high point of my life. My wife (and hiking partner all those years) will celebrate our 53rd anniversary this August. I hope you and your bride get there with bells on some day!

Thanks for all the pics and happenings on the mountain! I read the blog everyday. My daughters and I hiked up Boulevard in September 2020; descended via Alum Cave. We stayed the night and loved every minute! Hope to visit again soon. Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

I've greatly enjoyed your postings and pics the past few years. As for Mt LeConte itself, you've done the old girl proud. Wishes for many years of peace and joy for you and your soon to be bride, as you begin your journey together.

PNUT, your photos and commentaries are most enjoyable. I read them each and every day down here in West Central Florida. I've stayed at LeConte Lodge once, back in the 1970's; climbed various trails to the mountain top countless times. Your photos and dialogue bring it all back and will be missed. Best of luck to you and your fiance with your upcoming marriage and future life together.
