Hello all,

Wrapping up the month of April with another beautiful day has crew getting really excited for spring months ahead. Current temperatures are in the low 50s today! We have bright blue clear skies with warm sunshine gracing the mountain all day and expecting it to continue throughout the week.

Good afternoon,

Hope everyone has been having a wonderful weekend. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous for us even with temperatures dropping last night into the low 20s. Woke this morning to a fair amount of frost covering the windows and trees. We are currently at 38 degrees and rising with clear blue skies and bright sunshine slowly warming us up. With no rain in the forecast and temperatures expected to get into the 50s we are looking forward to a wonderful week here at the lodge. So grab those hiking sticks and come join as we soak in the beautiful weather and views. Happy trails.

Good morning,

What a beautiful day on top of Mount LeConte. We are currently at 40 degrees and still climbing, expecting to reach highs in the upper 40s. Last night only dropped to the low 30s and with no rainfall the trails will be clear of ice spots.
After what has felt like an eternity of rainy and cloudy days, crew cannot contain their excitement for this wonderful day outside. With a light breeze in the air and views as far as the eye can see, today is certainly a perfect day to relax on the grassy hill side and watch the clouds roll by.

Hello,

All of crew, guests, llama and wildlife of the mountain are in the highest of spirits today as we finally have a sunny day! Thats right, after about 4 days of nothing but rain and clouds we are now soaking in the sunlight with the biggest of smiles. Today we are expecting highs to float in the mid 40s which is a nice change of pace from the low 30s it was last night. The weekend is shaping up to have some beautiful weather conditions at the summit with no chance of rain or clouds though temps are expected to drop after nightfall into the low 30s. So put on those layers and come enjoy this sunshine with us at the lodge.

Greetings,

We woke up this morning to beautiful clear skies and freezing temps (30 degrees to be exact). Overnight our low was 30 degrees but things warmed up a bit as the sun came out. Around 10:00 the sun left our view and slipped behind the clouds leaving us with another rain filled day. Temps today are expected to stay above freezing for the next 24 hours but still cold. Bundle up!

Good afternoon all,

Well it seems the weather is staying very consistent for us this week at the lodge. Rain is still coming down on us but has let up a bit in comparison to yesterday (two inches). Temperatures are not fluctuating too much as we are staying between 35 to 40 degrees. For those that are hiking up today rain gear with layers are encouraged and caution as trails may be slick.

The gentle fog rolling in-between tree branches and hugging the cabins makes for a seamless transition from manmade to nature allowing for guests and crew to feel closer to the mountain than ever.

Good Morning,

"And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul" -John Muir

Another rainy day for us at the summit of LeConte. Temperatures are still staying above freezing so we count our blessings as they come. We are expecting highs today in the mid 40s with more rain to come. The contrast of grey and green seem to be overtaking the mountain today creating a cozy feeling in the lodge (by the heaters). What a perfect day for some really great photo opportunities, so backup those cameras, strap on them rain boots and come get inspired with us on the mountain as we relax in this very calming weather.

Greetings all,

The rainfall began late last night and is continuing through the day. Overall we are expected approximately 1" of rain over the next two days. Be sure to pack rain gear and layer up if you are planning a hike to the summit. Temperatures are staying above freezing (low of 34) so ice should not be a concern but also be cautious when conditions are rainy.

We here at LeConte Lodge would like to introduce Bill Yeager. Bill has been coming up to the lodge for an impressive thirty two consecutive years! He loves to hike up the mountain with his wife, who has made it up for 26 years, and his friends. Bills favorite trail is Trillium Gap Trail but has been on all five trails countless times. From rainy days like today to snow covered cabins to crystal clear skies, Bill has seen LeConte Lodge in all of its beauty. As a long time friend to the mountain, we wish Bill happy trails.

Good Morning,

Happy Earth Day! Leconte Lodge is a perfect place to celebrate this day as there are endless beauties to behold here. We are reminded of just how lucky we are to have such wonders in this world and that it is up to us to help preserve and protect this place. So go be green today whether that means picking up trash, saying no to plastic bags/bottles or simply taking time to appreciate nature.

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." -Albert Einstein

Rain is on the horizon and headed our way this evening then expected to stay with us for a few days. Temperatures are expected to stay above freezing so snow and ice should not be a concern but caution is recommended. We only dropped into the low 30s last night and with heavy cloud coverage blocking out the warm sunlight we are only getting up to 40 this afternoon.

Good Evening,

Crew woke up this morning to a wonderful surprise from  Allison (assistant manager) in the form of delicious, melt in your mouth, sweet treats that are more commonly know as Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! All of crew would like to send a BIG thank you to Allison for being the real hero of the day for there is surly no better way to begin a work day than with a warm doughnut.

With temperatures dropping last night into the mid 20s we are both surprised and happy to announce that we are currently at 51 degrees (also our high for the day). We had a great weekend with the weather thus far but looks like rain is in the forecast for tomorrow afternoon and through the beginning of the week. So for you folks planning on hitting the trails here tomorrow be sure to bring those rain jackets.
