Good morning folks,

Its a freight train of wind blowing through camp. Firs are blowing hard this morning. The high yesterday reached 37 degrees. The overnight low only dropped down to 26 degrees. It is currently 38 degrees and high winds roaring. No precipitation was recorded. Trace amounts of snow/ice still linger around the mountain. Looks to be a wild ride later with heavy rain and wind gust upward of 80 mph. Have a good one. SEE YOU AT THE TOP!

Good morning folks,

The sun is shining bright. It’s a blue bird day on the mountain. The high yesterday reached 22 degrees. The overnight low dropped down to 15 degrees. It’s currently 30 degrees with calm winds. No precipitation was recorded. There are some lingering spots of ice on the mountain and trails. Looks to be a fantastic day with warmer temperatures. The next 10 days look to be very warm. Hope to get some trail running in before I head off the mountain for the season. Anyways, have a good one! SEE YOU AT THE TOP!

Happy Valentines Day

Good morning folks,

Its a bitter cold start to the morning. Heavy rim ice has formed on the firs. The high yesterday only reached 24 degrees. The overnight low dropped down to a bone chilling 5 degrees. It is currently 7 degrees with light winds swirling through camp. No precipitation was recorded. There are still areas around the mountain that are really icy. Micro- spikes will be needed in shaded areas that don’t see much sunlight this time of year. Weather looks prime this week until Thursday. Have a good one folks. SEE YOU AT THE TOP!

Good morning folks,

Its a fine morning on the mountain. One could get use to these temperatures. The high yesterday reached 35 degrees. The overnight low only dropped down to 25 degrees. It’s currently 28 degrees with calm winds. No precipitation was recorded. There is still lingering snow/ice around the mountain. Micro-spikes will be needed in a few areas on Alum cave bluff trail. More so at the top. Bitter cold temps return tomorrow and possible light snow accumulation in the high elevations of the Smokies. Today on the other hand is suppose to be nearly 70 degrees in the valley. We could possibly see mid 40’s up here today. Warm, sunny day on LeConte is a treat during the winter and I shall enjoy the day! Have a good one folks. See you at the top!
