Good Afternoon All, We would like to take a moment to highlight Trillium Gap Trail. Often referred to as Grotto Falls, it is 6.7 miles from the parking lot to the summit of Mount LeConte. Major attraction along the trail is the Grotto Falls. With a rushing waterfall overhead hikers get to walk behind the falls for a brief moment on the trail. Truly a must see inside the park. Come up Trillium and there is a good chance you will run into the llama train. They use Trillium on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays to bring supplies to the lodge. If you encounter the llamas on the trail be sure to listen out for the llama wranglers instructions to ensure a safe passage for the llamas. Whether you are out for a day hike or coming all the way to the top of the mountain, Trillium Gap Trail is certainly one you want to cross of your list. We are currently at 56 degrees. Yesterdays high was 62 degrees with a low of 49 degrees. No rain on the forecast for this evening. -Adventure is out there.

I love Trillium Gap Trail ! And seeing the llamas ! I haven’t found a trail in the Park yet that I don’t love. ;-) They are all so beautiful, so adventurous, and so fun. Each trail is unique. Safe happy trails to all hikers. Beautiful photos today. Thank you.

I always tell friends with young-ish children to go hike to Grotto Falls around 3:00 or so on lama days. It is a great hike, fairly easy for hiking in the park, not too long, the kids get to see a waterfall, walk behind it, play in the water, look for salamanders, and probably see the lamas as they are coming down. Several have taken my advice and had a great experience. And at that time of day the trail is not crowded at all
