Good Afternoon Folks,

We are locked in the clouds today with scattered showers since this morning. The views may be limited today but guests and day hikers are gathering indoors by the heaters and swapping their stories. No matter the weather, LeConte Lodge is always a special place to be where wonderful  people gather to simply enjoy nature and each others company. Yesterday we saw temperatures rise to 68 degrees and drop over night to 54 degrees. Yesterdays rain fall came in at 0.20 inches. We are expecting a lot more rain today and into the night. A slight breeze is pushing the rain clouds around so every once in a while we get a break from the rain and get a glimpse of sunshine. We are currently at 58 degrees. For those planning a trip up be sure to pack that rain gear and bring an extra layer for those chilly nights.

Good Morning,

Last night guests and crew were treated to a spectacular lighting show far off in the distance of the valley below. Armed with only an iPhone I tried to get the best footage I could. With each strike of lighting all of camp and even the valley floor was illuminated bright as day. The storm was far enough away that no thunder was heard, just bursts of light flooding the sky.
Yesterdays temperature stayed in the fifties all day with a high of 58 degrees and a low of 51 degrees. Rain clouds covered all of camp but we only received 0.20 inches of rain. Today looks to be a very similar day with expected scattered showers and low visibility. Be sure to pack that rain gear if you are planning a hike.

Good Afternoon,

Today we are stuck in the clouds. It looks like we won't see too much sunlight today. With all this heavy cloud coverage we are seeing cooler temperatures, currently at 57 degrees which is a big difference from yesterdays high of 71 degrees. Last nights low came in at 54 degrees. The rain started around 11:00 AM and has only gotten heavier as the day goes on. Forecast are calling for expected rain for the rest of the weekend so if you are planning a hike up be sure to pack that rain gear. Today is a great day to sit back on the porches and watch the dense clouds snake through the trees and cabins.

Good Afternoon All,

Yesterday ended up being a rather warm day compared to recent days. We reached a high of 73.5 degrees, just 2 degrees shy of being the hottest day of the year. It certainly didn't feel that warm though. A constant breeze and large white clouds rolling by all day kept us feeling cool despite the high temperatures. Last night we dropped to 51 degrees.
Today seems to be very similar to yesterday. With the temperature on the rise (currently 68 degrees) and heavy clouds constantly rolling in we can only hope the rains hold back another day for us.

Good Afternoon,.

Another sunny day here at the top. A perfect day to be out on the trails, with temperatures currently at 63 degrees and no rain on the forecast. A slight breeze is making today feel more like fall than summer. Yesterdays high was 64 degrees and a chilly low of 48 degrees. Camp is starting to get busy early today with such wonderful weather. Not only guests and day hikers but wildlife alike. So come on up and enjoy this perfect day with us.

Good Morning!

With another beautiful day behind us, we anticipate another filled with views of the valley and the sky above us. Crew woke up overnight between the hours of 1 and 3 in hopes of catching a view of the meteor shower. In true LeConte fashion, the clouds came in and out allowing only small peeks at the view of the stars above us. Yesterday, our high was a warm 62 while our overnight low reached a very chilly 48. Yes, 48 degrees. If visiting the lodge as an overnight guest, or attempting to catch sunset on a day hike, remember those layers! It does get chilly up here especially if you are used to those upper 80 and 90 degree temps. Enjoy this beautiful Tuesday. We hope to see you at the top!

Good Afternoon,

The llamas never stop entertaining us. Yesterday Jack must have really enjoyed his treats as he got a little messy. We couldn't help but to laugh to the point he needed ask his fellow llamas if he had anything on is face. What a delight Jack is and all the wonders he brings to the mountain.
With another rain free day we can't help but to be outside today. Crew members with the day off will surly be found at myrtle point or cliff tops enjoying the perfect weather. Another busy day around camp as day hikers and overnight guest start to arrive. Temperatures are staying consistent with a high of 65 degrees and an overnight low of 53 degrees.

Good Morning,

We have gone a full 24 hours without a single drop of rain! After over a week of rainy days we are super excited to see the sunshine again. And so are the llamas as they get to eat and rest while staying dry. With all this direct sunlight we are already seeing higher temperatures compared to last week. We are currently at 63 degrees and climbing. Last nights low only got to 54 degrees. We are expecting sunny skies for the rest of the day so be sure to bring plenty of water for your hike today.
