Good Afternoon Folks, We are locked in the clouds today with scattered showers since this morning. The views may be limited today but guests and day hikers are gathering indoors by the heaters and swapping their stories. No matter the weather, LeConte Lodge is always a special place to be where wonderful people gather to simply enjoy nature and each others company. Yesterday we saw temperatures rise to 68 degrees and drop over night to 54 degrees. Yesterdays rain fall came in at 0.20 inches. We are expecting a lot more rain today and into the night. A slight breeze is pushing the rain clouds around so every once in a while we get a break from the rain and get a glimpse of sunshine. We are currently at 58 degrees. For those planning a trip up be sure to pack that rain gear and bring an extra layer for those chilly nights.

The atmosphere at the Lodge is what is so special to me, in any weather in any season, so, I am working on making a teleportation machine that will instantly transport me up to the mountain whenever I am overcome by the longing to be up there, which is frequently, at least until I get over this sciatic nerve aggravation preventing me from hiking up which is the main reason I like going. After, it's the journey that is the destination ! G'day to all.
