Good Afternoon!
It has been a gorgeous day thus far in camp. Temps are touching the upper 40s and the sun is intermittently peeking through the clouds. We are expecting rain showers and thunderstorms to hit us this afternoon and continue through the day tomorrow (Stay dry!), but temps are predicted to remain in the 40s throughout tonight and into tomorrow. Today, we would like to showcase one of our crew members! Jacob Line has been visiting LeConte Lodge with his family since he was a child. After graduating high school, Jacob went to the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a major in Cinema Studies. While LeConte isn't exactly "movie friendly" he does get the crew together to have movie nights on his laptop. When not working, Jacob enjoys reading books and taking off to Myrtle Point to enjoy the peaceful view. He is also trying to grow a "full beard" and has entertained the crew daily with his antics (shown below). He has a never ending love for this mountain and the people here and we can't wait to see the impact he makes this year!

We had such a nice Easter evening visit at the lodge. It was our young boys’ first “big” hike (9 and 11) and they loved everything about it! The hearty breakfast managed to keep them full for at least an hour or two on the hike down. We joke that they do nothing but eat and hiking sure increased their appetite so we were happy to have gotten the packed lunches as well. Thanks to Jacob and all the fantastic staff at Mt LeConte! We will be back!

A mop makes a pretty good substitute for a dancing partner and dancing while mopping makes the chores a little less mundane.
