Greetings,

Its a nasty rainy day up here with temps currently in the 40s and predicted to drop to the 20s as the day continues and into the night. Sideways rain and strong winds are leaving us wet to the bone. If you are coming up today please remember to layer up and wear protective rain gear. As the temperature drops, we could see this rain turn into snow so if you are planning to visit us tomorrow, we strongly suggest traction as a precaution for your hike.

"Only a select few are able to see the true beauty that lies behind what just might seem like a rainy day or a grey sky." -Jessica M. Laar

Great photos! Love the last two, especially the last one. Nice candid photo, and it pulled on my heartstrings. The guy in the picture reminds me of one of my "kids" that holds a special place in our hearts. Have a wonderful day!

Does Mt. LeConte have any wild flowers that bloom later in the spring due to the higher elevation? I visited Porters Creek yesterday and it was very beautiful.

My sister is on the way up in this mess! Hope they make it fine. She and her friends are celebrating 30 years of this date at Mt LeConte...should pour them a glass of wine for the celebration!
