10.17.16. We might get what?

10/17/2016

You heard it here folks, we might get snow over the weekend.

Snow.

After a 51/43 gorgeous super moon night?

The frozen chunks of water might make their way up here Friday and hang out over the weekend, pack waterproof, micro-spikes, and layers just in case!

We'll let you know when we know for certain, but there is a strong probability.

In other news we would love to send this postcard down but we need an address!

Llamas on Wed/Fri/Sun this week.

We are having difficulty deciding what to carve on our pumpkins....any suggestions?

JOL idea: A side view of a carousel featuring lamas instead of horses.

Its been a dream of mine to hike to the lodge ever since me and my husband ran into the llamas in the parking lot for Trillium Gap 5 years ago. We try and make the trip to TN from FL every October and we finally made the hike up last Friday for the first time. I got my picture taken with the llamas that morning before we headed up. It was so beautiful up there and I fell even more in love with Mt LeConte! Would love to have the postcard to remember our first visit up.

Thanks for the daily posts! I read them every day! Love hearing about what's going on up there!

Stay warm this weekend. Looks like we will have our first "cold front" of the season also... high of 78 on Saturday :)

How about a lodge lantern silhouette?
We're ramping up our training for hopefully a trip up in early November. It's strange to think snow when I hiked in 84-degree weather today (in Nashville). I'll think snow when I'm drenched in sweat tomorrow from another day of record October highs!

I haven't found it yet, and am still looking in the archives, and I will find it, but there's a photo of the Lodge, apparently an aerial one, that I think is a very good one showing how the Lodge sits quietly and comfortably beneath the summit of the mountain and the ridge. I posted it on my site for the time being.

Maybe carve a pumpkin of The Lodge dining room front doors , then put a light inside, so it glows just like the dining room. ;)
Happy Halloween to all the crew. Enjoy carving.

Snow? This is news to me. Here in St. Louis it has been hot the past two days. We were there in July with a group of girls - my daughter Jenna previously met Chrissy and enjoyed talking with her. I didn't realize postcards could be sent down from the lodge. I'd love this!

Thanks Doug Y for the "aerial photo" of the lodge. I have it on my wall paper now as I type! Wish I could get back up there one more time... Have A Great Day You All ...
