Who is the mysterious bell Ringer!?
Good morning,

We had a busy start to the weekend! Llamas and hikers and beautiful weather helped start this Columbus Day weekend.

After a 65/41 day we are stuck in the clouds, sprinkling, and extremely windy. Pack a windbreaker and some layers!

We will have some rain rolling in tonight and hanging out till Thursday so make sure to pack accordingly.

At the lodge we are all about our hiking shoes. Comfort, durability, goretex (or not) it is key for working up here. Before hiking up here please wear your shoes a few days before to make sure they're comfortable, and most importantly, not disintegrating on your way up!

Happy weekend!

I love your blog! I am planning our trip for next year and wondering when the best time to visit is? I know you probably get asked that all the time! Thanks!

A couple of years ago I had one of best pairs of hiking boots "disintegrate" as the ones shown in the photo; they essentially turned to dust. I sent them off to a company that re-soled them and they are like new. The modest price was well worth it. I can give the name of the company if needed (my site). G'day

We're still here Norman! I've been thinking the same thing. I guess no one has much to say! Ha!

In 1977 I was going down Alum when the sole of one my boots flipped off. I have in to this day. Nothing better than hiking right out of your boots.
