Happy Columbus Day!
Yesterday was a doozy. Warm temps, 51/58, with chilling breeze and a deluge. 4.24” inches of rain! In one day! The dining room steps were quite the waterfall show and the few day hikers who challenged the weather were peppy and unafraid of our blustery mountaintop. We are expecting scattered thunderstorms through Thursday so please pack accordingly and remember to check the weather! What we experience up here is often vastly different from what it is down in Gatlinburg and may be a lot c older than expected. Llamas on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday this week. See you then!

I would vote for 'frogchoker', but I have no proof to back up the choice.

How do I find out what the weather forecast is for the upcoming weekend? The link on this site shows lows of around 55. That doesn't seem accurate, considering it's already been in low 40's according to the daily blog. I'm flying in on Saturday and hiking up Sunday ..need to know what to pack.

I would say a "gully washer" especially if the water is coming off Mt. LeConte. But, I have no proof to back that up either. However, I would like to witness some good gully washing off trail on LeConte someday. But, that isnt going to happen.
