It is cold up here guys! We were glad to have the sun up yesterday , warming up to a 50, then dropping down to 32 at night. It was 23 not too long ago, pack your layers guys! The wind chill is very ...err...chilly, so thermal gloves and ear coverings are strongly advised. Since daylight savings the days are much shorter too, you might want to bring up headlamps if you get a late start on the trails. It hasn't rained for quite a bit now and since it is the dry season up here we are being extremely careful with our water usage.
We are able to fill up water bottles in the kitchen but the outside spigots have been closed for right now as are the guest toilets. Sections of the AT are out of water also so if you are planning on hiking around that area bring extra water! And please, if you are camping or staying at any of the shelters, DO NOT START ANY FIRES! It is too dry so please refrain. Thank you to all our veterans this weekend!

Don't ask the blog. It's really not that hard to do a little research on your own and get all the info you need.

Water will be available at the spring below the camp after closing. The NPS recommends treating or filtering all spring water in the park. Have a good hike Comments are closed.
