High 28, Low 18. Well, Snow's in the forecast starting tonight. The trail is solid ice, very very slippery, where it's not ice it is a river, like the pictures below. It took 2h 30m down, and 2h 15m back up, I was able to grab lunch with a friend in town before heading back up. And of course I love winter weather, Here at the end of March i'll be starting to hike a trail where i'll be in the sun and burnt for 6 mos straight, i'm enjoying my winter time for now. I've only got about 30 or so more days up here.

We have been out here on the Flats for about thirteen years and I would say it was one of the better winds the other night Looking at the damage around the house not the worst, but there were several trees snapped on the road out. Lost power and heard chainsaws in the night clearing the road. I would say 60 mph is a fair guess, I am sure 100 was possible on top. The wierd thing is they come like a train, absolutely still, then you hear the trees roaring closer and closer until it shakes the house.

Where will you be hiking where you will be in the sun for 6 months?

A possible thru hike on the AT?? If so, have a great time and wish it was in my plans. Maybe when I retire.....

I'd say he would be hiking in Alaska. By the way, Alex, how did your homebrew turn out?

I too am wondering where you'll be hiking??? The AT came to mind but you being an expert hiker could hike it faster than 6 months. Recently I've read 4 excellent books on thru hikers stories. Please tell and is there a way we'll be able to check on your progress?

I'd guess the hike will be in Spain and France. Remember way back when Alex was posting about airline tickets.

I agree with Whiteman! Alaska just doesn't get it for the sunburned part. Hiking across Europe??

Yes and remember the young lady would have to earn her way to see his cabin by teaching him French and another language phrases?? My vote is on Europe! Great pictures once again Alex, thanks for all you do :)
