A cloudy 64/52 day made for a gorgeous sunset and sunrise! It sounds like it will rain pretty hard today so pack for rain! Tomorrow should be nice and clear, but you never know in the Smokies.  We have llamas today and tomorrow, be sure to leave room for the boys!
If you see any trees down on the roads or trails let us know!

Good morning! A group of us are hiking up on Sunday - looks like it will be great "dry" weather. We are hiking up Alum and coming back a different trail. We are trying to decide to take Rainbow, Trillium or Bullhead. Which trail do you suggest coming down?

I love Bullhead. On a clear day you can see Gatlinburg and lots of the Smokies!! Rainbow is harder going down to me because of all the rocks. Trillium is a good one. Especially if the Rhododendron are blooming. Have fun whichever one you take!!

The Bullhead Trail is nice but very uneventful. The other two at least have waterfalls to experience. Personally, I prefer Grotto Falls on the Trillium Gap Trail.....but to each his own. Both of these trails are very nice. Google Images has pics of both waterfalls, but with Grotto you get to truly experience the water by walking behind, in, around the water...happy hiking.
