9.18.16. Drizzly rainy dregs

9/18/2016

We have rain for the first time in......quite a while!

After a 64/49 day with beautiful sunshine we have been socked in all day with cloud and rain.

It looks like this right now, and it's chilly!
We have llamas tomorrow!

Since Luke has brought up Phish I feel it is equally important to not forget other musical geniuses.

Such as Alice Cooper.

Or Yes.

Anyway, who was able to see either of these guys in concert?

Saw YES many years ago while Jon Anderson was still with them. Also saw them about 6 years ago, with another guy who sounded very much like Jon. They were touring with Peter Frampton. Great concert.

I did get to see Yes in concert back in the mid 70's and I was lucky enough to see Rick Wakeman in a solo tour.

I was up on Easter weekend (@ the cool people's table). Saw Yes in Springfield, IL. Great concert. Moved to Idaho and named my house Roundabout because the "mountains come out of the sky and they stand there." It's a travesty that Yes is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!! Who's with me on this?! Yeah!

I thought this was a Leconte blog site.

I agree with Fred. Meanwhile back at the ranch, how are things up there ?

Hey Fred: Don't get your knickers in a knot over it; sometimes folks on here just get a little off topic. Mostly the comments center around activities at and around the Lodge, as well as thee Park.

1. The off topic questions have been posed by the LeConte Lodge staff.
2. It's nice to have something to discuss besides the weather report. That can be had elsewhere.
3. As a community, we have asked for more details on the staff's interests. This is how we get it.

How about the LeConte Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Inductees have to prove they have slipped on a rock while climbing or descending LeConte and have rolled down the hill as a result!!

Good question elktonbrant. And I wonder how many have been awarded the "Royal Order of the Crutch" !? And have any received the 'Golden Staff' award ? (staff as in hiking staff.....)

I saw Alice Cooper in the 80's, it was a great show! My wife and I are coming up at the end of the month for her birthday.

Here here, Elktonbrant and Doug! And a photo, or video, of the "rock and roll" moment should be submitted with application into the LeConte "Rock and Roll" Hall of Fame! Let me just say, I had a "rock and roll" moment about 8 weeks ago and my knee still hasn't healed! I stumbled down some granite ROCK, then tripped over a big oak tree root, landed smack dab on another tree root with my knee and ROLLED into the dirt and gravel. 😲 No picture though. I hope it doesn't affect me hiking up to the lodge in October!
