Usually when the blog misses an update it is because something has gone wrong....I am happy to say that yesterday's missing blog post was due to everything involved with the airlift going impossibly well! The weather was beautiful, highs reaching 57 degrees and the low over night at only 45. There was no wind and the sunshine stayed on us all day. We got 95 percent of everything up the mountain at record speeds and camp is really coming together beautifully! I will admit that there were a few times yesterday, particularly while hauling in 50 pound bags of flour to food storage, that I almost used the "I have to write the blog" excuse to take a break, but I couldn't abandon my hard working crew of airlift workers...everyone did a great job!
Today the weather hasn't been quite as cooperative as we are stuck in a cloud. The temperature has been dropping all afternoon and is hovering around 40 now. Hopefully this will clear out later this afternoon so we can finish our last 5 loads! But for now the crew is hard at work in the office, organizing games, cleaning rocking chairs and folding this years shirts (which I will post a picture of tomorrow!). We are all so excited for next week to start the season!

It sounds as if the airlift is going along fairly smoothly. That good to hear. Be safe and stay warm. Please say 'hi' to Tim for me if he's still on top.

So glad that the airlift went well! Sorry I screwed up on the peaches! Better late then never... Very proud to always be apart of the food part of the airlift. Thanks for the business!

Brian, what did you do to the peaches? Late? Glad every thing is going GOOD. Whishing I could get to the closest thing to Heaven (Mt LeConte). Have a great DAY!

Didn't send nearly enough. The fantastic folks in our transportation department saved the day by heading back out at 5am to fix my mistake and get those peaches to the air lift.

Brian, glad you got it straight. Are you out of Knoxville or Johnson City?
