The earth is all before me. With a heart Joyous, nor scared at its own liberty, I look about; and should the chosen guide Be nothing better than a wandering cloud, I cannot miss my way. I breathe again! Wordsworth
_Morning,

We had another mild, rainy day yesterday. The high was 40. The low was 32. It was 36 and cloudy at observation. There was 1.03" of rain yesterday. The trail will be very wet, as there has been nearly 3 inches of rain over the past few days. It looks like there will finally be some sunshine on the mountain. This has been the longest stretch of cloudy days since I've been up here. I am hoping for the projected rain tomorrow evening to turn into snow! C'mon winter!

Looking at post and pictures from last Jan 10, there was over 10 feet of snow on the ground with more coming. Amazing how one year changes things. Hoping you get your snow soon

Those mists and wet trails look just like they look when we've hiked up to stay in March - sometimes so fogged in you can see next to nothing as you hike! And yet we keep on doing it.

Yes, we hike up in March also and cold and wet and foggy sometimes. But then we've hiked in Aug. Beautiful trip up and then you get around the corner and the fog rolls in. You just never know, But yet we keep going too. lol

Well at least there is a shot of arctic air coming in a few days, and maybe a snow storm early next week.

Nadine said it well: The fog can get so thick on the mountain that you cannot see five feet ahead of you, but you continue hiking; I relish lying on my bunk in a cabin with the door open and the lodge engulfed in a thick fog, blowing by with an occasional random wisp coming through the cabin door; The fog seems to magnify the mysterious atmosphere it creates, permeating the imagination with all sorts of ideas and mental creations; Yet, it's soothing and comforting; For me, it's simply a part of being at the lodge.

We hiked up Trilium opening week in 2009. Around one bend we were sweating in the sun glad we had our sunglasses and around another we were putting on our Columbia rain jackets to do battle with the wind and cold. We saw cascades of ice on a rock face near the lodge and could not believe that we saw horse hoof prints. I can't fathom sitting on a horse going up Trilium, but the manager at the lodge said every now and then they get some intrepid soul on horse back.
