Another spectacular day for checking out the views. Yesterday proved to be a great day for hiking around the mountain. There were a lot of day hikers on the mountain soaking up that Mt. LeConte beauty. The high was 64 with a the low around 42. The crew is starting to get the itch for some snow. That seems to be the favorite topic of conversation. They are ready to put on their hat and gloves and shovel some walk ways. I am just happy enjoying these incredible fall days.

Allyson, I will go ahead and put in my order for snow on nov. 9th. I think my sons will be more upset than me if there is no snow when we come up. See you soon.

Hiked to Myrtle Point in the dark (from the shelter) fri morning with my wife and son. The stars were in full force and really cool to see the lights down in the valley. But the slow sunrise that followed is something that we will never forget!

Did you use headlamps or hiked by moonlight?

Headlamps Tony. After sunrise, going back up to high top we were glad we had cuz we had no idea in the dark just how razor sharp that ridge is! Comments are closed.
