Another Beautiful Day

3/29/2011

Picture
This was taken from the Clifftops area.
Once again, the clouds settled in below and left us with an amazing day. The high was only 38 with a low of 28. We had our first sightings of bears. One on Bullhead, about a mile down, and one around the spring near camp.

Allyson,
What kind of camera are you shooting with now?

Juanita

Oh my what a beautiful sunrise. It looks just like the sun coming up over the Atlantic in Coral Gables.

I think you might be missing an opportunity here Allyson.

You might consider making prints available for purchase. I know I'd really like to have a poster sized print of the 3/27 photo to frame.

You could use a site like Zazzle.com, and have them made to resell, or have them do all the work and sell them, and you'd make a royalty.

Allyson,
The season has just started and I beleive you have already outdone last years pics. One word, "AMAZING".

@Tim, Just visited your site. Great job on the LeConte piece. Enjoyed your other articles also. Living just outside Pigeon Forge I think Amis Mills Eatery will make a nice afternoon drive for some great food and scenery.

Juanita, those pics are looking at the SUNSET, not the SUNRISE. The clifftops look south and the sun sets to the right (west). I hear the sunrise is also spectacular, but I've never crawled out of my bag before sun-up (I'm usually hungover).

Absolutely beautiful and I agree that you have outdone last year, although I certainly felt those were great. Allyson does have a studio address, although probably too modest to note. It was mentioned here over the winter. Somehow I have lost it. Would you be kind enough to list again and will some these be available? Today's are just too amazing.

Rebecca- I just bought an Olympus point and shoot. It is the xz-1 that shoots raw files. I love it. I am glad you all are enjoying the photos.

@Galen - Thanks, we love to share our experiences with those who enjoy the outdoors like we do. If you make it to Amis Mill Eatery you won't be disappointed. If you drive on up a ways past the resteraunt there is an ebbing and flowing spring. It's one of only two springs in the world that exhibit tidal characteristics. Here's a link to the wiki for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebbing_and_Flowing_Spring

I'm with Rod, I would love to be able to purchase one or two of these as prints.

Allyson,
With several folks asking about purchasing photos, it brings up a question.
Is there any problem of printing any of the photos on the site for personal use only?

High On LeConte

Galen, I have my work copyrighted and sell it in local galleries. I don't mind people using it as screensavers, but I would like it if you didn't print it and use it.

While this topic can be really touchy for most individuals, my opinion is the fact that there has to become a middle or widespread ground that we all can locate. I do appreciate that youve added relevant and intelligent commentary in this write-up even though. Thank you!
