As I was walking around camp trying to figure out what to blog about, the deer jumped out in front of me. I took that as a sign. So, you get another deer photo. I like the sun beaming down through the trees in this shot. It is a fuzzy, feel good, kind of morning up top. I am getting ready to hike down the mountain today. I am exchanging rock under for my feet for sand between my toes. My group of girlfriends are meeting at the beach for a few days. I am ready for ocean time. Meredith is off the mountain as well. She will be back on Thursday to share some more pictures with you. We will make sure you get a morning update via Christi at our reservations office. I will be back next week with a good dose of sand and surf. That should carry me through the c

I agree with n4sgt Sarge; I grew up in the mountains of E. KY with people hunting all around me, but I could never shoot a deeer except through a lens. These two for some reason remind me of Adam & Eve. Maybe you could call them that; I'd love to be there to observe the pair. G'day.

Did anyone else hear the fighter jet on Saturday the 10th? I was near the Boulevard trail and this military plane roared over our heads. This happen often in the Smokies?

Why don't you take some of these fabulous pictures you post and have them turned into calendars? Hikers could buy them at the souvenir window in the Lodge. Then we could enjoy them all year!!

Hiker, I stay on the NC side of the mountains for the summer and we have been hearing those jets and also military helicopters on a regular basis. Don't know where they are based, and this is the first year I have heard them so many times. Maybe someone else knows something??

Nearly midnight and just home from work; wanted to look at this site before retiring; the sunlight shining down on the two deer reminds me of the Garden of Eden, God's hand protecting those innocent creatures. No one may agree with me, but I'd call those two Adam and Eve for sure. That garden surely must have looked a lot like this scene.

If you are headed to the beach this weekend, you may be warmer in the water than out. Supposed to be surprisingly cool all weekend.....I can't wait!

The deer are both spikes, young adult males... maybe you could call them Adam and Steve?

Enlarged the picture and don't see any spikes. Looks like a doe and fawn.

Maybe in an attempt to appear more feminine they removed their spikes. LOL. Gay deer on Mt LeConte? sometimes this site is too much!

Male or female they're just deer and names are only relative; simply a nice photo;

Spent 9/11 at Lodge. Thanks to crew for their great services. Splendid temps and weather. Beautiful moon..nearly full. Sunset was not the best with vibrant colors but at least got to see one. Went up Alum. Long trip down Boulevard trail. Amazed to see so many people on it above the Jump Off sign..expected some from the Gap up to AT sign since Charlie's Bunion is that way. My Colorado brother (his first trip) was surprised at the expanse of mountains and the feeling of closeness and friendliness among the hikers he met on the way up, down and at the lodge. He was also excited as he got to see a bear on the trip down. Comments are closed.
