Answers to questions!

9/15/2016

Hello my friends! This is Luke here. First and foremost, we apologize for not being able to reply to your comments. The connection is very spotty up here. SO, I am going to start off by answering a few from yesterday.

Yes, we will post more crew interviews. (I know you all are dying to know more about me)

Elktonbrandt- I was able to find the elusive creature we call "Justin" and ask him, Paper or Plastic? He said he's more of a paper fan.

Mrs. Mooring- Your son is one heck of a runner! And unfortunately the cornbread recipe is highly classified but I will say, it does require one cup of love.

Alayna- 7 and 8 are perfect ages to start introducing the joys of hiking! Especially a hike to LeConte.

Tammy(Tx)- There's 11 of us employed here but usually there's a few of us down the mountain for days off.

The high yesterday was 70 degrees and the low last night was 49.

Now, since I'm writing the blog today I want to ask all my phellow Phish peeps two questions. Because I can.

What's your favorite show and why?

How do you think their new album, Big Boat, will compare to their most previous ones like Fuego?

"It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves"- Edmund Hillary
Jess is back and cooking up a storm!

Never thought I'd see Phish questions.
First show: 9/28/99, Pelham, AL; It made such an impression on me that I joined 5 other friends to buy Big Cypress tickets that week.
Favorite show: Big Cypress; Why? - perfect community, isolation, no worries, exceptional setting, and the tunes.

I feel unqualified to answer the second question. As I have aged and gained increasing responsibilities, I am unable to see them crank out the newer tunes as often as in the past. I do try to see them at least once a year. Generally speaking, I feel their albums haven't quite reached the level of the 1.0 era.

My question is where did Brian go and who is now the site manager? I check the blog every day as I have since this website was created and the daily post speaks of crew members that have no bio in the LeConte Crew Tab. I make an annual trip up every year since 2005 and did back in July and always want to put faces with names but this year I was unable due to the constant crew member changes. Thanks for all you do to keep me/us up to date on daily activity on the LeConte as most of us reading the daily post only wish we could be there and this is as close as we get as we carry on our daily lives...Thank you so much.

Nice blog Luke! Thanks for answering our questions! Eleven it is! I'll remember. And, those are good peaches you serve up there, and that would be a mighty big chicken indeed! Peace ya'll!

It would be nice to hear from LeConte staff from over the years. The stories about, and changes to, the lodge would be interesting.

Huh. That's ironic that Brian G asked about Brian, and just last night my husband and I were eating in a restaurant, and as we were leaving I was drawn to a guy sitting there waiting for take out. He looked just like Brian from LeConte. I met Brian last year when we were up there and this guy looked just like him, beard and all. Even had a cap thing on his head. I was more than tempted to ask "Brian?", but didn't. I knew it was more than likely not him, but I recall it being mentioned in the LeConte blog, awhile back, that one of the crew had just gotten back from Austin. Don't know that they meant Austin, Texas though. Last night there was such a strong resemblance. Brian, you have a twin, wherever you are! Have a beautiful day ya'll!
