Another foggy morning.
Hello hello! We certainly have some wind again today! Yesterday stayed cloudy and misty with the high reaching 50 and the low at 37. Currently, it is 47 degrees and the wind is starting to pick up again. I wouldn't really call is rain, but the mist accumulated .05" of precipitation and practically all of the ice and snow are gone from the trails and mountain top. That being said, a cold front is moving in with the storms we are supposed to be getting which means that tomorrow might be icy again. So for those hiking up to spend the night, go ahead and bring that traction just in case for the return hike! Also, we are supposed to be getting even stronger winds as the day moves forward, so be cautions of downed trees on the trails today and tomorrow!

     Happy hiking!

Knitting by lamp light is one of my favorite ways to keep the cold wind at bay.

"Real Dracula-type weather," as my father used to say. He was an odd man.

Two super photos. The top one is so ethereal and wondrous. The bottom one is so warm and inviting. Ruthie, do you have photography background? The pictures you post are fantastic.

I look forward to these photos. I think I will use the bottom one for my screen saver today as it is foggy and damp here too. It warms the soul looking at the photo.
The top photo is cool! It is mystical. The path to the fog tunnel. Very cool.

Is there any way Nicole can post the no- bake cookie recipe? I try to make them but something is off.

Love, love, love the pictures. I didn't think to pack me knitting for the hike up. Hmmm ... Inspiration you have inspired. See you all in eleven days. April 14th it is!!! So dang excited ... Waiting to become a member of the early morning 'rocker' club. Anyone else game?

I made it yesterday! After planning this a couple of years ago but being unable to do it because of the government shutdown, I finally got to hike up to the lodge. I went up Rainbow Falls and when I got to the top I met two really nice guys who were going down Alum Cave Trail and say they would give me a ride back to my car if I wanted to take a different trail down! It was a great hike to a beautiful place!
