Cloud Glow.

Bonjour, mes amies! It's all wind and rain so far today. Yesterday turned out lovely and warm with higher elevation winds making for intricate cloud formations all day. The high once again reached 63 and the low was only 48. Currently though, the wind is picking up, the rain started about an hour ago, and the temperature has dropped from 48 to 46. So be prepared for wet weather hiking this afternoon and I would suggest a good book to bring up to read curled up in a rocking chair by the heater!

This morning's sunrise only produced colors for about 45 seconds....just long enough to take a picture.

Enjoyed my hike to the lodge yesterday. Did not have an opportunity to meet Ruthie because everyone was busy with daily tasks. The trail, Alum, was busy especially the first section to the bluffs.

Beautiful pictures. Beautiful place. Love Mt. LeConte. Will be in the mountains in 2 weeks. Hoping to hike up this wonderful mountain again.

Wow what beautiful pics, I so enjoy reading the daily post. Some of my hiking companions are on the way to the top as we speak Debbie Fifer and her sister Cindy and husband Rich for a night stay over. I hurt my shin so was not able to make the climb today but plan on hiking up for the day asap. Thanks again for the posts and awesome pics!!!! Have a wonderful weekend til we meet.. Nancy

Ruthie is a blessing---the lodge needed a "face-lift" so to speak. Ruthie is bringing it!! Genuine hospitality plus an excellent photographer, and a strong woman who is stepping up to the plate and proving a lodge can run well with good people. Not only the physical labor, but the warm welcoming friendly attitude is what willake LeConte an even better place. Thank you. Ruthie
