Good Morning, Another wonderful weather day here at the lodge. With views all the way to the valley floor below and not a cloud in sight we couldn’t be happier. With so much direct sunlight we are warming up fast. It is currently 55 degrees with last nights low in the upper 20s. No rain on the forecast today. With such high temps any icy areas are sure to melt off. we would like to give a shoutout to some overnight guests, the Jim and Grif Morpeth party. They have been visiting the lodge since the late 70s and made it for a nights stay last night. They have been bringing friends and family with them ever since to help spread the joy of the mountain. Their favorite trail is Alum cave because of the wonderful views it has to offer. Jim says he has been at the lodge in all kinds of weather conditions, snow, rain, clouds and sunshine but no matter the weather he loves every visit and can’t wait to come back.

I hope the nice weather holds for a while. I'm looking forward to our first visit next week.

Wow, sure wish I had of been there. This is A local restaurant owner where I live, he is very generous. Jim was the person who introduced LeConte to me and my husband( before he was my husband) . Jim would take employees and a guest to LeConte as a treat. Just a really nice man. Glad to see he still is coming to the mountain. Keep on adventuring Mr. Jim.

Good Wednesday morning! We were planning on hiking up Sunday morning to hear the bagpipes, but now wondering about the weather, and if perhaps Dustin may cancel. Do you expect the trails to be very deep in snow ? Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
