Good Afternoon, Temperatures last night dropped into the single digits for us here at the summit but todays clear skies and warm sunlight are making quick work of melting the inch of snow we received. We are expecting the high for today to be in the low 40s with no chance of snow or rain. After a few days of rough weather, crew and guests are excited to be out and about the lodge today. Conditions are perfect for taking in the views at cliff tops or myrtle point today but its never a bad idea to kick back and relax on one of the porches and watch the sunlight melt away the snow. You can almost hear the sigh of relief from the trees as they lose pound after pound of snow from their branches. Highway 441 has been opened as of late this morning which allows access to Alum Cave trailhead and Boulevard trailhead. -Adventure is out there.

Thanks for the blog and the beautiful photos. I can almost hear the wind in the trees softly murmuring. Am bringing 30 students from my Exercise Physiology at Carson-Newman class up on Saturday. Most will be in sneakers so I am looking to this site to let me know of conditions on top.
