Good morning,

Yesterday was another beautiful one filled with sunshine, animals running around and warm temps with a light breeze. This morning however, we woke up to quite the opposite. The calming heavy rain and high wind gusts are keeping our overnight guests in their warm cabins until they come to the dining room for breakfast. A total of 1.35 inches of rain overnight fell and should continue throughout the day. Overnight tonight, our temperatures are predicted to drop into the upper 20s as that rain turns into a snow that should continue throughout the day tomorrow. Over the next 48 hours, remember those traction devices and warm layers. 

Additionally, our office will be closed today in observance of Good Friday. If there are any road closures today, you can find that information on the Smoky Mountain National Park Road Info Twitter page or on our Facebook.

441 is currently closed. As of now, if you wish to summit, either Bull Head or Rainbow trails off of Cherokee Orchard Road will be your way up.
