Good Morning All and Happy Easter!
This morning, our Chaplin Bryan Long lead a beautiful "Sunrise Service" in the office. Although the sun is rising, we are socked in at the moment with only about 50 feet of visibility. The fog and snow on the ground really brings out the dark colors of the cabins and their surrounding trees. Yesterday, we received 3 inches of snow and with very little melt off, left us with 4 inches on the ground. We stayed below freezing yesterday with a high of 29 and low of 23. Needless to say, we are ready for the anticipated warm up that should begin late this afternoon. The mid to high 50s are in our near future! 441 (Newfound Gap Road) remains closed however, guests have reported that the flooding on Rainbow Falls and Bull Head Trails has ceased. If you are planning a hike for today, bring those traction devices and warm layers!

Thanks to the crew for making me feel so welcome. The weather wasn't very conducive to being outside so we deferred to the comfort of the office for our Sunrise Time together. This will be one of my favorite "Sunrise Service" memories. Looking forward to returning soon.
